Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin

This photo tells a thousand stories, one of which is that Kim perhaps spent the entire day of the Tonys watching the November Rain video for hair inspo. Another story is that Alec Baldwin, for our young friends who did not know this, used to be VERY VERY VERY HOT. (He was nominated this year for Streetcar Named Desire -- that's good casting -- but lost to Judd Hirsch. Jessica Lange played Blanche.) There is a reason 30 Rock had a whole B plot where Liz is stunned when she sees a picture of Young Jack, and it's actually just a real pic of Alec Baldwin.

Alec Baldwin, Daisy Eagan and Kim Basinger

Lil Daisy Eagan was present as the outgoing Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical for her role as Mary in The Secret Garden, a musical which, if you are not familiar with it, SLAPS. How useful that I can still sing basically that entire libretto but it took me three minutes to remember the word for "shins" the other day.

Alec Baldwin and Glenn Close

This was the Tony Awards Nominees Brunch, and honestly, I just thought you needed to see this photo. I hope both of them have this framed.

Glenn Close and athlete Cam Neely

Glenn was (a) hosted these Tonys and (b) was also nominated this year for Death and the Maiden, and she did win. She also won the following year for Sunset Boulevard, so this was a hot time on stage if you're Glenn Close, which you might be! Hello, Glenn! Cam Neely was a hockey player and the internet tells me they had a hot fling. Good for them!

Laurence Fishburne

In case you forgot how very handsome Larry Fishburne was in 1992! He won this year for Two Trains Running, the August Wilson play.

Patti Lupone, William Finn, Ron Silver

Patti looks great here. Despite the fact that she is fondling that Tony, she did not win one this year and nor was she even nominated. I think that's William Finn's Tony, for Falsettos, as is the one Ron Silver is holding.

Lauren Bacall and Brian Bedford

Lauren Bacall looks, as ever, gorgeous and very glam.

Faith Prince, Gregory Hines and Sigourney Weaver

Yes, I chose this photo specifically because they all looked annoyed at a question from the press pack. (Faith won for Guys and Dolls, in which she WAS amazing per my many years of listening to the original cast recording, Gregory Hines won for Jelly's Last Jam, and Sigourney is just there to be leggy and fabulous as a presenter.)

Tonya Pinkins

She won Best Actress in Musical, also for Jelly's Last Jam and I wish I had a full body shot here. She looks gorgeous in what we can see, though, and I assume the rest of this continues to be gorgeous.

Nathan Lane

And Nathan Lane lost to Gregory Hines (Lane was nominated for Guys and Dolls and he DID seem terrific in it, judging again from my CD. That IS a good play for Nathan Lane, though.)

Farrah Fawcett

Farrah Fawcett was there! (She was a presenter.)

Lynn Redgrave

My friend Jennifer wore a short version of this very dress to our senior prom the following year.

Sir Ian McKellen

Hello! It is younger Sir Ian McKellen!

Carol Channing

And ageless Carol Channing and all her many many jewels, which I believe with my whole heart to be real and please don't tell me otherwise.

Billy Stritch and Liza Minnelli

It's LIZA! looking like Classic, Traditional, Wholly As Expected Liza with a Z.

Judd Hirsch and wife Bonni Chalkin

In which I was prompted to Google, "is Judd Hirsch alive?" and got the very good news that HE IS! Stay alive, Judd! (He won this year for Conversations with My Father.) They are not, however, still married.

Danny Glover

Behold! It's Danny Glover, presumably before he was too old for this shit.

Kirk Douglas and Michael Douglas

They were presenting and nothing says "I'm filming a movie about the military" like Michael Douglas's haircut, but it was actually Falling Down.

Jane Alexander

This dress SCREAMS 1992.

Jodi Benson

This looks fun to dance in! She lost to Faith Prince but of course Jodi, you'll always be Ariel from The Little Mermaid to everyone.

Tony Randall

I appreciate your shenanigans, Tony Randall.

Everyone Looked SO YOUNG at the 1992 Tony Awards

In fairness, it was 30 years ago.
