2005 Premiere of The Wedding Date

Debra Messing

Believe it or not, 15 years later and I remembered this entire look. (I must have seen it in People or something.) I appreciate that she went for it, but I think the flower in the hair might have pushed this over into Slightly Corny?

Amy Adams

SURPRISE! Amy Adams was in this movie (she plays the bride in the titular wedding), and she VAMPED all over the red carpet like a C lister desperate for attention in a way that is very unlike the Amy Adams of today! Both Junebug AND Catch Me If You Can had already come out, so really there was no need for this, but it might take a while for it to work its way out of you. Please note: She basically looks exactly the same age now.

Sidney Poitier and wife Joanna Shimkus

"What am I doing here? I am SIDNEY POITIER!" (You look incredibly handsome, Mr. Poitier, as usual.)

Dermot Mulroney

"Yes, I am in both this film AND My Best Friend's Wedding, I am AMAZING at movies about weddings."

How did I forget they were married? They had one year left to go on that union in this photo.

Diane Lane looks exactly like herself here; Josh looks weirdly like Christian Bale.

Garcelle Beauvais

Garcelle has definitely put this top in the Donate Pile by now.

Amanda Peet

Whereas she could ABSOLUTELY wear this now.

Martine McCutcheon

Ah, yes. This was the time period when Martine McCutcheon sort of dressed like your cute accountant. Other than her obviously beloved turn in Love Actually, she never really made a big impression in the United States, but I just checked on her Wiki (she's doing VERY well in the UK still), and apparently she is the victim in an incredibly famous episode Midsomer Murders where the murder weapon is a wheel of cheese! MARTINE! MAZEL TOV!

Kathryn Morris

I used to spend a lot of time watching bits of Cold Case (but never the whole episode) and worrying about her hair extensions in it; fun fact, per Wiki: "From age 6 to 17, Morris and her family traveled the southern 'Bible Belt' as a gospel group called 'The Morris Code'. The group was mainly made up of Kathryn's father and three (out of five) of her siblings."

Holland Taylor

She looks VERY reasonable, and she's in this movie, and until literally just now when I looked it up to make sure, I thought she was Will's mother on Will & Grace. She is NOT. Blythe Danner is.

Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally

But we ARE moving into the Will & Grace portion of events.

Eric McCormack and Guess Models

I regret to inform you that many of us wore "going out skirts" like these Guess models as a matter of course.
