This was Taylor's first trip to the Grammys -- she was up for Best New Artist, which she lost to Amy Winehouse. That seems fair, actually.

This look really kinda holds up, right? This color is great on her. (This was the year of "Umbrella," which I heard on the radio just the other day, and which ALSO holds up.)

Nelly Furtado

We didn't love this at the time, but it's aged better than I would have expected. The color is GREAT on her.

Corinne Bailey Rae

I wish this didn't look like she had a waist-trainer on, because the giant paillettes are so charming.

Natasha Bedingfeld

This needs a hoik and I have some questions about the hair-styling choices, but overall: This might be the best she's ever looked?

Alicia Keys

This is also FANTASTIC on her, and could easily be reworn this year, if she wanted to. Was 2008...kinda good? No. Surely not. That seems all wrong.

Carrie Underwood

2008 was a good year for pop music; in addition to "Umbrella," and "Rehab," and Kanye's "Graduation," it was also the year of "Before He Cheats," which is a GREAT break-up/cardio song. Carrie looks very much like herself here -- with a LOT of hairspray.

Joey Fatone and Lisa Rinna

This seems about right.

Miley Cyrus

Remember Miley's brief Brunette Period? This whole look is very prom, but the kind of prom you wouldn't be embarassed about ten years down the road.

Fergie

With the exception of how this is slowly melting off her body, this is ALSO very good? I feel unmoored.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill

ALSO GOOD. (I mean, Tim looks like an evil sharpshooter, but that's not that far out of the range of normal.)

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert

Were we ever so young? Props to Miranda for negotiating that gown with no wrinkles on her torso at all.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen

Solange and Beyonce

Tah-dah! Our take on this at the time was that Solange got sartorial short shrift, and she's certainly less flashy than Beyonce is her, but I think her look has proven to be a bit more timeless, if boring. Beyonce looks good -- very princess-y! -- but they do look like they're going to very different parties.
