She won -- or "won"?? -- Worst Dressed this year and I have to stand by that, although we've certainly seen far worse since there. Perhaps even from Julia herself. I think if this had been cut more like a traditional jumpsuit, it would have gone over better. (She was nominated for August: Osage County this year, which might be the last time Julia Roberts was even in a film that was in the awards chase...? Is that TRUE?)

Lupita Nyong'o

She won Best Dressed, and I also stand by THAT. (This was the year she won the Oscar and just basically killed it every event she attended.) That breastplate -- clavicle plate? -- is so dreamy.

Kerry Washington

She was pregnant here, and the Cropped Top Pregnancy Look was a bit ahead of its time; she does look charming. (This was the period of time where I feel like Kerry Washington -- who seems naturally very effervescent -- spent a lot of time chatting up Seacrest, in part because that's her job, but also because I think she [correctly!] wanted to remind everyone that she's NOT Olivia Pope and actually none of her work associates were ripping people's teeth out to get them to talk.)

Helen Mirren in Escada

This is MAJESTIC. And she won this year, for a Phil Spector HBO movie/miniseries that I totally forgot happened.

Sandra Bullock

This is fab; this is the year she was nominated for Gravity, the movie she SHOULD have won her Oscar for, a take I suspect even she would agree with.

Cate Blanchett in Givenchy

However, instead this was the year that Cate cleaned up for Blue Jasmine.

Amy Adams in Antonio Berardi

This is where I was ready to launch into my all time rant about how she was ROBBED for Arrival but that actually happened happened yet; she was nominated here for American Hustle, which she's GREAT in and also she's never looked hotter than she does in that movie. (The cast took the overall win, although she lost individually to Lupita.) She also looks hot here!

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior

She was also nominated for that film, and she ALSO looks FANTASTIC here. Dior, why don't you keep doing THIS for her? (I forgot she had this haircut, also, which was very cute.)

Emilia Clarke in Calvin Klein

Remember Game of Thrones? Anyway, this is actually really pretty but I think the color doesn't totally work on her.

Lene Headey

I LOVE this. And apologize to her for pulling a pic where the hair of someone behind her is making Lena look like she's got some kind of headdress on. She does not.

This did not get raves at the time but basically now I just think it's kind of boring? She has gone on to thrive, however.
