SWOON. This wedding was total perfection. It is basically my personal irrational dream wedding

I vote for at least two royal weddings a year, please. GET ON IT, HARRY. (Not really. Don't rush to the altar to please me. Unless it's WITH me.)

"Oh, I like those sleeves," Kate Middz mutters, somewhere underneath a duvet at Sandringham.
You can relive their entire wedding here, btw, in case you missed it the first time.

I appreciate how much kissing this wedding featured.

So did they, I believe. (Especially given that they're expecting a baby in the new year.)

Did I mostly fill this slideshow with photos of people in gowns and dramatic military uniforms? YES. Fred looks quite dashing here.

...though the hat kind of takes us to a Crazy, Napoleonic Place.

When Mary originally wore this headpiece, I really liked it, but now I think it's kind of bonkers. Sometimes I don't know what I'm thinking.

I LOVED this look -- at Carl Philip and Sofia's wedding -- but how do we feel about a tiara that so obviously doesn't go all the way around?

That was a great dress on Crown Princess Mary; they look very glam and dashing here. It's stunning to me that, somehow, this was the one snap I pulled in which Fred was wearing his beloved navy tux.

I thought this was a great look on her, too -- beige shoe and all.

I cannot resist any royals in a shot with a baby animal of any sort. (This IS a cow, right?)

Ditto hip-waders.

Ditto cute dads in ski gear with sleds.

"Mary, seriously, get up. I get it."

Oooh, I lied about the blue tux! Here it is again, in a shot that I originally noted looked like something from a cruise. I stand by that. (A nice cruise! A fun cruise!)

THAT is a tiara. A major one.

ALSO well deployed on Maxima's part. (Sonja looks...bold.)

They're looking at the solar eclipse here. Willem-Alexander hasn't just totally gone sunglasses-bonkers.

This may have been her best look of the year. Those metallic shoes! I love them.

...and this was possibly the worst. OH MAXIMA. NO.

This is also a big ????!?!!!!?!!!!. (I believe it is a jumpsuit. THE HORROR.)

We can't skip the kids in capes! All kids in capes in 2016!

Welcome to the turban portion of this event.

I LOVE this photo. They look like they're guest stars in an old Murder, She Wrote set on a tropical island. (W-A did it, but he didn't MEAN to.)

This hat is kind of what happens when you crumple up a turban and leave it in the corner of your closet for six months.

Of course Maxima had an event where she had to whack a gong with a mallet. "Why don't I ever get to bang a gong?" Kate wonders sadly, in Norfolk. "Bang what?" Wills asks. "NOTHING."

Just another low-key night in the Netherlands.

See you next year, Maxima!

Did I choose to bring you, like, a TON of pictures of Princess Estelle? HELL YES I DID.

This kid has got a LOT of pizzazz.

LOOK AT HER.

I keep looking at these photos and thinking about Victoria's recent statement that Estelle does NOT want a little brother or a sister, and would prefer a hamster. This is going to be amusing.

I just want someone to arrange a playdate with George. They'll burn down the castle and invade Switzerland, just to be cute.

Basically, I cannot resist a women with a penchant for a candy necklace.

This was at CP and Sofia's wedding, and I believe this is H&M on Victoria. I appreciate her commitment to sustainability or whatever, but not my favorite look.

This may ALSO be H&M? It, however, is GREAT on her, no?

Victoria ALSO met Jane Goodall this year. She had a big 2016!

They all look quite dashing here. My dream is to see that dress of Victoria's again, and closer.

And everyone here -- the night before Sofia and CP's wedding -- looks so dashing!

I applaud the Nobel Prize for a lot of reasons, and yes, one of them is because it's a Tiara Event. (I also think it's lovely that these royals REALLY haul out the good stuff for a celebration of brainy people.)

This is easily one of my favorite tiaras, ever.

She's so pretty, I think. They had their baby VERY shortly after this (they're at CP and Sofia's wedding here).

And here he is! I just want to smell the top of his head.

This photo legitimately makes me laugh out loud EVERY time. AWKWARD.

I could never pick a favorite tiara, but I LOVE this one. (Emeralds are my birthstone.)

She looks FANTASTIC in this as well, at their rehearsal dinner. Sofia is really lovely; I am excited to see what she wears as the years progress. It goes without saying that I can't wait to see their baby.

I really like this Gucci dress, but I sort of want to re-do her head.

Sequins!

I don't get access to many photos of the Japanese Imperial family, which is a shame. I thought she looked GREAT at Sofia and CP's wedding.

And she -- here, at her 20th birthday -- is the one who put out a press release that basically said, "FINE, I guess I'll devote myself to my royal duties EVEN THOUGH THEY'RE BORING," so I obviously want to hang out with her more often in 2016.

Over to the UK for a bit of a check-in with the Other Brits. Little Mia looks so cozy in this.

Zara had a...questionable year, sartorially, but she looks great here, and he ALSO looks very sharp. (They are, of course, at the races.)

ALSO at the races. Well played, lady.

May we all feel such joy in 2016. (Here, her Maj is watching her pony at the races. She does love a pony.)

Every week in Royals Round-Up, I chose a pic simply because I think it's well done. This is one of them.

This is another. I wish QE2 could write a real, honest memoir. She has SEEN SOME STUFF. (Maybe she keeps a juicy diary? I just need to stay alive long enough that they can publish it.)

"Another cake cutting today. Anne cruise-directed the entire thing, AS USUAL."

This was during her trip to Germany this year, and you have to think that, if you could go back in time 65 years and tell her that this event would eventually happen....she would be surprised. (And pleased, I should think.)

We are so used to seeing her in bright colors that this coat always seems extremely elegant and subdued to me.

In case you forgot that this year also brought us a royal eyepatch.

This is another amazing photo. Thank you, photogs, who did such good work this year! You make my job easier.

In which the Queen met -- and was delighted by -- a robot.

YAAAAASSSS QUEEN is, I believe, the only acceptable response to this.

Two detectives, of a sort, put their heads together to solve SOMETHING.

I mostly pulled pictures of Anne where she looks REMARKABLY like the secret detective I believe her to be, or she looks surprisingly chic.

Like, this is actually really chic on Anne. (Anne hardly ever looks chic. She usually looks SUITABLE and COMPETENT.)

And occasionally upholstered. But ALWAYS in charge.

NO ONE is effing with this women.

I include wildlife in that "no one," by the way.

Please. Like I wasn't going to include Joan Collins. Don't you know me at all?

In which Camilla brought her cape to America.

I continue to find this slightly ominous.

They're really enjoying this. (Also featuring capes. Can I resist a cape? I cannot.)

No one will forget this, least of all Charles.

"And here's the giant flip-flop, your royal highness. The pride of Great Britain."

This might have been my favorite look on Sophie Wessex all year. I LOVE IT and want to wear it, except I don't have a reason for such things.

She also looked grand in this, although I'd like to set those shoes on fire in 2016.

This is ALSO great. I might like Sophie as monochrome as possible.

Doggies!

She looked lovely at the Sofia/CP wedding, as well. Here's to seeing more of Sophie in 2016!

Over to Denmark to eyeball their queen. I love this shot. It's very, "HELLO! WELCOME TO DENMARK! COME IN! I HAVE PASTRIES!"

And she really brought it to Carl Philip and Sofia's wedding, at 75 years old.

I hope I'm spry enough to wear a glam flowered caftan to Indonesia when I'm 75.

Ditto.

Mette-Marit should do her hair like this ALWAYS. She looks lovely here. And also like she's thinking, "HE'S SO DREAMY," which is also true.

I like this CONCEPTUALLY.

I like this, period.

Over to Spain! I love this coat.

This is v. glam.

I love this skirt.

I also like THIS skirt. (I mean, technically, it's a dress, but whatever.)

AND THIS.

I actually often find Letizia looks too business-y for my own personal tastes, but this suit is aces on her.

And she wears this very well.

I might have done a red shoe? But I love this look.

VERY glam. Round of applause!

They are a handsome family

SPEAKING OF HANDSOME.

Let's revisit Mathilde's love of pattern. I enjoy this one.

AND this one, though it feels a bit like something you buy at Paper Source? (Note: I love Paper Source.)

This dress STARTED well and then maybe drove off the road.

DUDE. NO.

MORE BABIES. These two seem MARKEDLY less miserable since their babies have arrived and it's very nice to see.

Snuggles! (I'd also like to snuggle up in the coat.)

One of my favorite things about The Twins of Monaco is how BORED they look, ALL THE TIME.

They are NOT moved by costumes.

I, however, am personally moved by this dress. I think it's swell.

Everyone is so happy here!

And, of course, everyone looks hotter in sunglasses.

IN WHICH FERGIE WAS ALLOWED INTO THE ROYAL BOX AT ASCOT. No, that's actually kind of a big deal. Also, I just saw her on QVC selling some wacky brush/straightener combo. I hope the Queen was also watching.

In case you wanted to be reminded of what Beatrice and Eugenie's boyfriends look like. Sorta similar, honestly.

I actually really liked this.

AND this. Bea is stealthy stylish.

I mean, this isn't wholly successful, but it's AN EFFORT.

Hmm. Let's just not.

And, finally, never forget: She released this portrait to celebrate her own birthday. #GOALS.
