But when you get right close to it, the actual garment ITSELF does not seem to have been crafted with quite so much care? When you make something for Billy Porter, you know he's going to move. He's going to make it BIG. The outfit should be able to sustain that with minimal bunching. It's surprising to me that the ruffled part didn't end up meeting his expectations because it seems like that's the part they paid the most attention to, basically.

Today is when I learned it's pronounced "Low-ev-eh," and again, as always, forgive me if I've written THAT several times before. It felt new to me. He looks nice, and he is undeniably good in that role -- of all the noms on The Crown, his is the only performance I would have rewarded. (I think Tobias Menzies won because Lovecraft Country was cancelled and so voters didn't watch it, NOBODY seems to have watched Perry Mason, Handmaid's Tale has maybe gone on for too long, and This Is Us is network so it's not going to win out.)

This fits great, looks nice, etc. etc., and is also in somebody's Kate Winslet coloring book somewhere because it feels like one of the two or three cuts she always wears.

This dress is also boilerplate but doing exactly what it needs to do: hug her. She is superb -- she nailed Mare, she is fab in Hacks, she lost her husband this year and still turned in iconic work -- and her son seems delightful. SNIFFLE.

When she appeared, the E! pre-show team squealed, "Oh, the PLUNGE," and I sincerely thought they said, "Oh, the PLUMS." Also accurate? She looks very sexy.
