ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 24 Mar 2021 It is my pleasure to inform you that Russia's women are still VERY committed to wearing gloves as part of their costumes... ## Anna Shcherbakova, free skate ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11832568ll-1616966503.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11832568ll) Anna SHCHERBAKOVA FSR, during Ladies Free Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 26 Mar 2021 ...and presumably because it makes it easier to grab their blades. Part of the music for this skate is Philip Glass's music for *The Hours*, which makes this sort of swirling depressive episode of a costume very apt. (I love that soundtrack and write to it all the time but...you know. It's not peppy!) ## Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, short program ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11828563qs-1616966231.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11828563qs) Elizaveta TUKTAMYSHEVA FSR, during Ladies Short Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 24 Mar 2021 Elizaveta's costume designer got a great deal on black tulle this season and I'm VERY sad this routine was not, apparently, to the collected works of Joan Jett. ## Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, free skate ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11832568mt-1616966512-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11832568mt) Elizaveta TUKTAMYSHEVA FSR, during Ladies Free Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships, Stockholm, Sweden - 24 Mar 2021 Alexandra Trusova LOVES a quirky back or side to her costume, as you'll soon see in great detail. ## Alexandra Trusova, short program ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11828563ms-1616966209-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11828563ms) Alexandra TRUSOVA FSR, during Ladies Short Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 24 Mar 2021 See?! I wish her skates were white -- I do feel like these beige ones are falling out of favor -- but this costume is very cool. ## Alexandra Trusova, free skate ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11832568jh-1616966479.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11832568jh) Alexandra TRUSOVA FSR, during Ladies Free Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 26 Mar 2021 This skate was Romeo and Juliet themed and now that I know that, I can see it. ## Alexandra Trusova, free skate ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11832568jv-1616966490-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11832568jv) Alexandra TRUSOVA FSR, during Ladies Free Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 26 Mar 2021 Although it also could have been about cool prehistoric fossils, because the back of this looks like something neat you'd see in a museum. ## Karen Chen, short program ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11828563ec-1616966151-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11828563ec) Karen CHEN USA, during Ladies Short Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 24 Mar 2021 Karen Chen finished in 4th -- it seems like Alexandra Trusova really nailed the long program to sneak onto the podium. She is wearing the same costumes (or close) that she wore for Nationals, and they are still gorgeous. ## Karen Chen, free skate ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11832568oe-1616966526.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11832568oe) Karen CHEN USA, during Ladies Free Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 26 Mar 2021 I MEAN! (I will say, as I recall, there was some Drama about Amber Glenn, who finished second in US Nationals, not going to Worlds, but given that Karen did the best of the two American women, this seems like it was the correct call.) ## Rika Kihira, short program ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11828563fh-1616966176.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11828563fh) Rika KIHIRA Japan, during Ladies Short Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 24 Mar 2021 The elusive lady skating trousers! This is both very cute AND sort of looks like she forgot to remove her warm-up pants. ## Rika Kihira, free skate ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11832568pm-1616966536-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11832568pm) Rika KIHIRA from Japan, during Ladies Free Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 26 Mar 2021 This is a bit more tradish. (She, too, loves a glove, apparently!) ## Hongyi Chen, Short Program ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11828563an-1616966123-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11828563an) Hongyi CHEN China, during Ladies Short Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 24 Mar 2021 I started with the top three finishers in each category, and then -- as I am now -- moved into Random Outfits I Just Thought You Might Like to See. (I didn't always pull the long program AND the short program look for any one person, just the ones that caught my eye.) This is GORGEOUS. ## Bradie Tennell, short program ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11828563pc-1616966222.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11828563pc) Bradie TENNELL USA, during Ladies Short Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 24 Mar 2021 I did not really like this costume before and I still don't really like it, but more than anything else: What happened to Bradie? She finished ninth. (I will say that this was a WEIRD year for everyone and I know she has recently changed coaches.) ## Bradie Tennell, free skate ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11832568tw-1616966588.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11832568tw) Bradie TENNELL USA, during Ladies Free Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 26 Mar 2021 I like this routine -- it is about Kosovo -- but I feel like Bradie's costumes this season might be letting her down a bit. They feel somewhat underbaked compared to other people. ## Hae-in Lee, short program ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11828563bn-1616966137-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11828563bn) Haein LEE Korea, during Ladies Short Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 24 Mar 2021 And both of her costumes are STUNNING. This skate is to "Ave Maria." ## Hae-in Lee, free skate ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11832568se-1616966578.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11832568se) Haein LEE KOR, during Ladies Free Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 26 Mar 2021 And this is our obligatory "Black Swan" performance. (Is "Black Swan" the new "Firebird"?) Both of these are gorgeous. ## Ye-lim Kim, short program ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11828563el-1616966166.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11828563el) Yelim KIM from Korea, during Ladies Short Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 24 Mar 2021 She, too, nailed both costumes. ## Ye-lim Kim, free skate ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11832568qr-1616966550-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11832568qr) Yelim KIM KOR, during Ladies Free Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 26 Mar 2021 I love it when we drift into costumes that could, with a little fiddling (and some length added), be worn to the Oscars. ## Satoko Miyahara, short program ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11828563mj-1616966199.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11828563mj) Satoko MIYAHARA Japan, during Ladies Short Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 24 Mar 2021 From what I can tell, she had a very screwy season -- stuff canceled because of Covid, coach issues -- and she didn't skate very well, but! She looks great. ## Kaori Sakamoto, free skate ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11832568rn-1616966565-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11832568rn) Kaori SAKAMOTO from Japan, during Ladies Free Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 26 Mar 2021 EXCUSE ME but this program is about *The Matrix*, which is the greatest thing ever. Her costume is perfect. ## Anastasia Mishina and Aleksandr Gallimov, pairs short program ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11828670dc-1616966274.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Anders Wiklund/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (11828670dc) Russian Anastasia Mishina and Aleksandr Gallimov perform during the pairs short program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships at the Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, 24 March 2021\. (This routine is apparently all Queen music and I do not get that from their looks, but you go with how flexible you are and how much you won!) ## Wenjing Sui and Cong Han, pairs short program ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11828563yh-1616966240.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11828563yh) Wenjing SUI & Cong HAN China, during Pairs Short Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 24 Mar 2021 These two truly look elegant. From what I understand, they barely competed this season due to Covid, so landing in second place seems like a particularly thrilling development for them. ## Wenjing Sui and Cong Han, pairs free skate ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11830819qo-1616966355-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11830819qo) Wenjing SUI & Cong HAN CHN, during Pairs Free Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 25 Mar 2021 This is all very reasonable. Both her looks are Could Go to the Oscars With Some Length. ## Aleksandra Boikova and Dmitrii Kozlovskii, pairs short program ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11830257ao-1616966287-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11830257ao) Aleksandra BOIKOVA & Dmitrii KOZLOVSKII FSR, during Pairs Short Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 24 Mar 2021 Apparently, this routine is based on a 2004 Hayao Miyazaki film called *Howl's Moving Castle*, which is not a particularly expected choice. It's cool to see folks go to the vaults for inspiration. ## Aleksandra Boikova and Dimitrii Kozlovsk, pairs free skate ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11830761fn-1616966325-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Anders Wiklund/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (11830761fn) Aleksandra Boikova and Dimitrii Kozlovsk of Russia perform during the pairs free skating final at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships at the Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, 25 March 2021\. ISU World Figure Skating Championships, Stockholm, Sweden - 25 Mar 2021 And this is a James Bond routine, which does feel right. ## Elizaveta Zhuk and Martin Bidar, pairs short program ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11828670cg-1616966260.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Anders Wiklund/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (11828670cg) Czech Republic's Elizaveta Zhuk and Martin Bidar perform during the pairs short program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships at the Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, 24 March 2021\. ISU World Figure Skating Championships, Stockholm, Sweden - 24 Mar 2021 Here we are at the "just look at some outfits" portion of pairs. PLEASE tell me they're skating to Pearl Jam. (I looked it up and it's actually *West Side Story*? This is....not quite there. Maria...would not wear that? I have questions.) ## Cheng Peng and Yang Jin, pairs short program ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11830257o-1616966303-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Raniero Corbelletti/AFLO/Shutterstock (11830257o) Cheng PENG & Yang JIN China, during Pairs Short Program at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021, Stockholm, Sweden - 24 Mar 2021 This photo makes me chuckle. She looks gorgeous and he looks like he's chasing after her complaining about something. (This is actually a routine based on the Jane Seymour/Christopher Reeve movie *Somewhere in Time*, which only makes me love them MORE.) ## Cleo Hamon and Denys Strekalin, pairs free skate ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11830761dr-1616966316.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Anders Wiklund/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (11830761dr) Cleo Hamon and Denys Strekalin from France perform during the pairs free skating final at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships at the Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, 25 March 2021\. This seems typical, yet not as fun as the usual rhythm dance costumes and also is maybe too big on her? (I guess this routine is a *Singing in the Rain* routine, the idea of which I love, but I'm not totally sure I would have guessed that from EITHER of them.) ## Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov, free dance ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11834245dc-1616966712-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by IBL/Shutterstock (11834245dc) Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov of FSR perform during the Ice Dance, Free Dance at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships ISU Figure Skating Championship, Stockholm, Sweden - 27 Mar 2021 And Wiki swears that this routine is to Michael Jackson singing the Beatles which...I DEFINITELY did not get from these looks! However, this routine is ALL MADONNA and her look is perfect for that. Well done! ## Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha, free dance ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_11833933dp-1616966608-scaled.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Martin Meissner/AP/Shutterstock (11833933dp) Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha of Canada perform during the Ice Dance-Free Dance at the Figure Skating World Championships in Stockholm, Sweden Figure Skating Worlds, Stockholm, Sweden - 27 Mar 2021 THIS HAS TO BE FIREBIRD.
