This is FANTASTIC on her, to the point of perhaps being one of her all-time bests. As I said in the live chat yesterday, I almost wish she'd have saved this for an awards show with a more traditional dress code. You can do a lot all over the place at the Grammys, wear this to the Oscars! Anyway, full marks, truly.

PERFECT for something so close to Valentine's Day. (She explained the collection's inspiration was "Hearts and Flowers.) Laverne has only been dressing from her own archive this awards season and it's been so much more successful than when she was being more traditionally styled.

This was a vintage Barbie jacket that was reworked for her; this is all just very Billie. I feel like she could take things in a more...editorial direction that still feels like her BUT I don't actually dislike this.

This would be insane to me at any event that is NOT the Grammys, but Leotard and Tights As Outfit is right for this event and you can't deny that she wears this so well. Also: that jacket is fun. Also: her jewelry is great. Also: Her head looks gorgeous!

Okay, so apparently this is actually NEW Baby Phat, which I didn't realize was back -- but Baby Phat is so evocative of, say, 2008 that this FEELS archival.
