(Photo by Amy Sussman/Getty Images) I'm showing you the interesting bit of this first. Not that the front is a complete snooze, but the back is definitely the star. This has a light "Copacabana" vibe to it but also that song is a banger, so.... ## Cara Delevingne in Tamara Ralph ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/10/GettyImages-2241913314-1760907837.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 18: Cara Delevingne attends the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 18, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Amy Sussman/Getty Images) I'd also argue that Cara is good at elevating everything she wears. ## Alison Brie ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/10/GettyImages-2241920193-1760907927.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 18: Alison Brie attends the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 18, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Monica Schipper/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images) This dress is, frankly, pretty spectacular. She looks like a window dressing in an extravagant Roaring 20s speakeasy, but I swear that's a compliment. ## Isla Fisher in Yara Shoemaker ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/10/GettyImages-2241914397-1760907868.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 18: Isla Fisher attends the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 18, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Amy Sussman/Getty Images) I fear this does slightly suffer by comparison, although it's a completely reasonable dress. ## Kerry Washington in Armani ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/10/GettyImages-2241917151-1760907887.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 18: Kerry Washington attends the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 18, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Monica Schipper/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images) That bodice is covered in HUGE beads and I love that. I might wish the entire dress was that. Her jewelry is also very weird (complimentary). ## Emma Chamberlain ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/10/GettyImages-2241910412-1760907806.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 18: Emma Chamberlain attends the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 18, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Amy Sussman/Getty Images) This dress is kind of a nothing burger but there is something about it that feels pleasantly 90s and that vibe works for her. This entire thing is giving Vaguely Lori Petty. She should lean into this and make the rest of this year Very Lori Petty, visually speaking. ## Eva Longoria in Elie Saab ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/10/GettyImages-2241908916-1760907797.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 18: Eva Longoria attends the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 18, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Amy Sussman/Getty Images) I regret to report that this is NOT, as it appears in this photo, an extremely insane jumpsuit. it's just a plain old dress. BORING! (I mean, she looks good but imagine is this was unhinged pants. It would be so FemBot and funny.) ## Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/10/GettyImages-2241914948-1760907879.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 18: (L-R) Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola attend the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 18, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Amy Sussman/Getty Images) This dress is beautiful on her, but something about this photo makes them both look like their own wax figures. I'd actually argue that Hamm, who can be so physically adept on camera, sometimes looks stiff in still photos. ## Colman Domingo in Valentino ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/10/GettyImages-2241910496-1760907817.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 18: Colman Domingo attends the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 18, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/WireImage) Whereas this man always looks like he could be the world's highest paid watch model if he so chose. Somehow, he looks so casual here, even though this is objectively NOT. ## Jenna Ortega in Grace Ling ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/10/GettyImages-2241918406-1760907917.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 18: Jenna Ortega attends the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 18, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Monica Schipper/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images) I was just complaining to myself that clothes feel so boring and same-y now -- Valentino is Gucci is Balmain, whatever -- but this is actually very cool. At least it feels like someone is doing SOMETHING. ## Renate Reinsve in custom Louis Vuitton ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/10/GettyImages-2241918319-1760907907.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 18: Renate Reinsve attends the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 18, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Monica Schipper/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images) Renate Reinsve actually always looks pretty interesting -- she and stylist Karla Welch are a really good match -- and this is VERY (intentionally) retro and she wears it really well. ## Cristin Milioti in Lanvin ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/10/GettyImages-2241913864-1760907848.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 18: Cristin Milioti attends the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 18, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Monica Schipper/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images) This is very nice on her and also EXACTLY what she usually wears to events. Could she use a big, dramatic cocktail ring? ## Laura Harrier in Gucci ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/10/GettyImages-2241917372-1760907897.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 18: Laura Harrier attends the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 18, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Monica Schipper/GA/The Hollywood Reporter via Getty Images) This is VERY good on her and also finally prompted me to look up if she's got anything on the docket, or if she's mostly just going around being beautiful. She was in several episodes of Doctor Odyssey! But she's also in the Michael Jackson biopic, which has been absolutely beleaguered by legal issues and pushed back a million times. ## Rita Wilson ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/10/GettyImages-2241902094-1760907786.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 18: Rita Wilson attends the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 18, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Amy Sussman/Getty Images) WHERE'S TOM?!!? I hope he's okay. (It's always great to see Rita, regardless. She looks good!) ## Susan Downey and Robert Downey Jr. ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/10/GettyImages-2241914041-1760907858.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 18: (L-R) Susan Downey and Robert Downey Jr. attend the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 18, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/WireImage) Susan Downey and Rita are believably cousins. (They are NOT cousins, but you'd believe it.) RDJ's lifts are getting more and more obvious. Just wear some cool Louis XIV-era heels and work it! ## Jennifer Hudson in custom Sergio Hudson ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2025/10/GettyImages-2241921038-1760907938.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 18: Jennifer Hudson attends the 5th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on October 18, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Amy Sussman/Getty Images) Speaking of working it!! [Don't Worry. The 2025 Academy Museum Gala Had Its Share of Sparkles and MetallicsSome things never change, right?![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2025/10/2025-academy-museum-gala_-sparkles-and-metallics-1760910019.png)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/dont-worry-the-2025-academy-museum-gala-had-its-share-of-sparkles-and-metallics-10-2025/)
