Kate's suit was custom-made by Ms. McCartney, which probably explains why the crotch looks like a deflated diaper.

When Julia and I were both young, I watched her in a show called "Press Gang," about a newspaper for kids/youths. She was, if I remember correctly, the nerdy but smart and cute heroine -- like Elizabeth Wakefield but not awful. Then she turned up as Saffy and I was like, "What? But she's so cool!" And yet she was also perfect as poor put-upon sadsack Saffron. It goes to show what good comic timing and a complete lack of vanity can do for your career.

I assume she and the Queen got together for a LENGTHY tea all about how they're both still extremely busy and active and it's proof positive that tea and a lot of wild game are the stuff of life.
