ACM Honors

Shania Twain

I suppose for this to be REAL classic Shaniah, it'd be hotpants. But the drama of all this is very much in keeping with her career-long fashion spirit. She looks like a Madam who throws THE best funerals for her favorite clients.

This is Shania's 1999 frock, on Kelsea. She kept it really simple, which is honestly all you need to do with a dress like this, and is in fact -- against her usual type -- what Shania did with it too. Behold...

Of course, she did accessorize with some Grammys. But the rest of her styling is actually giving me more Audrey Hepburn -- which was intentional. So I guess that makes it costumey, in its own way, which is VERY Shania, so that closes the circle.

I love this photo. Shania seems DELIGHTED.

Kelsea

And I assume Kelsea feels like a woman in this photo, of which Shania would ALSO approve. (That song is so good. If it is not in your head yet, what are you waiting for? Get that earworm IN THERE.)

Shania

This is also dramatic on Shania. It seems very Real Housewife to me.

The Real Housewives of Westeros, perhaps. Or, I will accept Middle Earth. (Sidebar: Shania must LOVE squeezing people's arms as a greeting.)

Avril Lavigne

Here is Avril's whole outfit. She presented to Shania, if my read on the event photos is accurate, so I wonder if this is her attempt to mix her typical aesthetic with Shania's love of animal print. It would be ridiculous on most anyone else, but on Avril it makes its own kind of sense. She could also be the Heat Miser's rebellious child.

Carly Pearce

And she is the Snow Miser's calming child. She puts out the fires.

Beth Ditto

Ooh but then the Heat Miser has a SECRET LOVE CHILD who comes in to bust things up. You did not come here today expecting A Year Without Santa Claus fanfic, did you?!?

Mickey Guyton

Mickey is lovely, but you know where I'm going with this: Bracelet City.

Little Big Town

These three are more coordinated with each other than usual, I think? Only Right Little Big Town doesn't match, whereas usually I feel like all four of them are telling a completely different story.

Miranda Lambert

This is great -- the color, the suit, all of it. You can't even ENTIRELY tell that the shoes are see-through.

I have a feeling these two are throwing the wildest afterparty.
