Carrie Underwood in Nicolas Jebran

Carrie had her baby, what, three months ago? And while this might be one of the more experimental and edgy things she's worn, it also looks like she's in danger of PROVING to everyone that there is no baby up there. She actually looks like she's going to perform at a sumo wrestler formal.

Nicole Kidman in Christopher Kane

The new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, the author of a noted and instructive tome Impractical Magic, can also transmogrify into a very large bat.

with Keith Urban

In case you were wondering, yes, Keith's facial hair is still very tentative.

Oh, NICOLE. It's hideous. It's just so very much.

Kelly Clarkson in McQueen

Kelly! Okay. I am torn on this one. The shift is great on her, but I'm never a proponent of all that lace -- it can look like tattoo sleeves, which isn't really Kelly's aesthetic -- but I also think she's wearing the heck out of it. Maybe if it were JUST the neck, and not the sleeves? Although she looks foxy and could pull off that dress with neither.

Maren Morris in Christian Siriano

She is turning into Khloe Kardashian.

Also, from photo to photo, I can't get a handle on her self-tanner situation. Or maybe it's just body oil. Anyway, her gown looks like an impractical chair cover at an EXTREMELY fancy celebrity wedding that's basically happening just so it can appear in People.

Cassadee Pope in Vitor Zerbinato

This is some cheap work with a bedsheet and a handsaw.

And it ALSO now looks like a wedding chair cover.

Kacey Musgraves in Christian Cowan

I seriously think Cher is looking at her and going, "You'll never defeat the master."

Cam

This has 90s soap written all over it. Emily Valentine would have loved it.

Miranda Lambert in Alex Perry

She, however, looks SUPER, and I see that fuchsia shoe poking out under there. I SEE IT AND I APPROVE.

Lindsay Eli

I feel like she is losing track of what she wanted her slits to show.

Danielle Bradbury

I need to understand her shoes better. (Or, maybe I don't.) I also need to understand why people pick dresses with HUGE high slits and then seem super paranoid when it comes time to actually be seen in them.

Khalid

"None of this fits! VEGAS BABY!"

Beth Behrs

Is it 2 Broke Girls or 2 Hokey Girls. ZING. Also that show isn't on anymore, and she's on something else now, but whatever.

Jessie James Decker

That's not a dress, that's an Instagram filter.

Dennis Quaid and Tanya Tucker

ARE THESE TWO A THING?!?!?!? She's single, he's single... if they aren't, can we will it into existence?

Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph

She "won" his season of The Bachelor -- air quotes fully intended -- and she still looks just as glazed about it as she did on the finale. I hope you kids are having fun.

The Brothers Osborne

These two are SUCH a sharper version of kitsch than what Beth Behrs did. Maybe because on them it also doesn't FEEL like kitsch.

Jake Owen

Same. That's just a damn groovy suit.

Chrissy Metz in Luxurious Roxy

Sparkles and red lipstick: sold.

Carrie (in Tadashi Shoji) and Chrissy

She also got to sing with La Underwood -- a song from the soundtrack of her upcoming movie -- which was apparently her first time performing live, and which must have been thrilling. Unfortunately, Chrissy's dress is far inferior, and I also think she gets a little lost in it under the lights? It seems muted where the sparkles might've played off Carrie's belt, but maybe you can't upstage the Underwood. But this just isn't nearly as good a cut on her.

Danica Patrick

This pulls around her at least one too many times, right? GREAT color though.

Lauren Alaina

The little houndstooth bag with this is such a cute touch.

Hillary Scott

Good stripes! I approve, milady.

Luke Bryan

He looks like he is holding himself back from deploying finger guns.

Maddie and Tae

I am not necessarily into Maddie-or-Tae's pants, but on balance these two look really cute.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

I love that Jamie Lannister was like, "I'm done playing the game of thrones. I'm going to THE ACM AWARDS!!!"

Little Big Town

Hey sure! I like Kimberly's stripey dress.

Reba McEntire

Reba hosted this shebang. I've also recently developed a brain fog about how to spell her last name (McEntire or McIntire), so my mnemonic is, "She is ENTIRELY rad."

And her commitment to fringe on this Night of Nights was deep and true. This looks fab on her...

... and that is some good solid yeehaw. (Am I using that term correctly? I only just learned it on Friday.)

I wish there was MORE gold here. Reba McEntire, of all people, deserves ALL OF THE GOLD.

Miranda Lambert

Miranda also sang, in a jumpsuit that looks like something Kim Kardashian would wear to pick up her prescriptions.

Carrie Underwood

And it just isn't a country show if Carrie isn't flexing in a very short and sparkly dress.

Bless This Hot ACMs Mess

It's delicious.
