# Amanda Gorman on Allure

My weird note about this is that I think the turtleneck swallows her up a little. Amanda Gorman has a ton of presence, and the bright dress and the turtleneck and the background all compete with her a little too much. I also think that for a makeup-based publication, the makeup on this cover is not as interesting as in some of the other photos, such as...

... this one. I know this is too tight a shot for a cover -- they'd be slapping the masthead over her forehead -- but I would've liked to see something more intimate-feeling that also showcased some unusual makeup artistry.

This is neat, too, and also very similar to the photo Vogue just ran of Kim Kardashian (that's got to be a coincidence and just speaking to a trend -- profile, giant earring). Something in her expression in profile here reads... worried, a little?
