This has so much fun potential, but the sheer aspect is just... boring to me. Her Fruit of the Loom did not need to be on the menu; it's perfectly sexy without it, and indeed if it were all opaque, I think we'd be saying this was a huge improvement. Mostly, we seem to have two things happening here: a styling team that hasn't quite hit upon her vibe yet, and a celebrity who is still learning how to bring her own oomph to the red carpet. This dress is better than the woeful Saint Laurent from the Academy Museum opening, but Olivia still seems a little stiff. She's not at the place in her fame journey where she can sell an outfit that needs her help.

Halle and her sister Chloe have been on a very determined We Are All Grown Up Now kick, and it's going to be interesting to see how that squares with -- or more likely changes for -- her 2023 promo tour for the Little Mermaid movie. The shoes tie in very well with the torso strings (though I can't decide if that's just right or a step too far), but... I just can't help wishing this were the back.

She was credited only as "Chloe," so I wonder if she's dropping the surname. This doesn't seem THAT naked overall, but it's definitely one where everything has to be wrangled just-so.

Including your wax job.

This intrigues me because all I know of her up to this point is that she wears a LOT of super bright colors, almost always with a bow at an angle on her head. She is like if bubblegum were sentient. So this might be the most sedate thing she's ever worn; I wonder if her Dancing With The Stars run has been her attempt to transition from that to a slightly older aesthetic, since she's 18 now. I almost think this goes TOO far away from it? It's a little dull and Prom-ish.

So much is riding on so little.

She is a singer who's nominated for a bunch of Billboard Latin Music Awards this year, and to celebrate she wore two outfits to the AMAs. One is this tragic Mugler, which looks to me like if that company started making Halloween costumes that meant nothing ("Sexy Pleather Carhop" or whatever), and the other...

... is custom D&G, because people are throwing business at them left and right. And for what? This is not an improvement. It's more of a sidestep. I'd argue she went 0 for 2, but that her taste in necklaces is fantastic.

She looks like a Real Housewife of Las Vegas. Except I don't think anyone on that imaginary installation of the series would even OWN a top with a fit that suspect. If Vegas tailors can do anything, it's put underwire in the right place.

This is another one whose sheers distract and detract from the fact that there's some pretty stuff happening here. Everything looks cheaper when it's sheer, y'all. ("Cheaper" in the "inexpensive" sense, I mean.)

... did ALL the pants and skirts in the world go on strike in the exact moment she was getting dressed? She looks like a very beautiful chandelier, but unless her seat actually IS attached to the ceiling, maybe even just some leggings? Have I EVER said that before?
