Cardi B in Alexandre Vauthier

This is just... an amazing picture. It has a carnivale feel to it. It's the perfect union of good lighting and one hell of a costume.

Cardi seemed really nervous whenever she had to speak -- no, not SEEMED; she fully admitted it. But, in her words, "Whatever, I'm serving looks!" And she did.

She wore this second -- it's a black dress and her tights under it are spankly. The silver stuff, which while she's seated looks like she's bursting from inside a box or something, is sewn along her arms and shoulders. I am not totally sure why someone wheeled her out sitting atop a pile of Gucci trunks, but hey, I respect anyone who wants a break from walking in heels.

Cardi B in Jean-Louis Sabaji

This is ALSO really good. Her styling for this is really on-point.

Cardi B

I MUST KNOW whether the runs in her arm stockings are by design or because they got snagged during a quick change. It has to be the latter, right? The bustier here is not great, but I LOVE her headdress.

in Miss Sohee

This is like the angel counterpart to the devilish masked minion she was on the red carpet.

Cardi B in Jean Paul Gaultier

Credit to her and her team for digging back to 2019 for this, but... maybe it should have stayed hidden there.

Jennifer Lopez in D&G

She's promoting that "Marry Me" movie right now, and none too subtly. This has a Carrie Bradshaw feel to it, actually. It's also a dishwater D&G that could be so much better. BLEH, JENNIFER. I so rarely say that about her outfits. She also really really looked like she was lip synching for big chunks of her performance. It's just a gut thing -- when you're watching someone and it just does not seem like the sounds you're hearing are coming out of their mouth in that moment.

Anderson.Paak and Bruno Mars in Gucci

I saw them and thought, "Is their album EVER going to come out?" It feels like they've been skipping around together doing this '70s thing for a while. Turns out the album came out last week, FINALLY. They look great in the red. Everyone is going to be in velvet Gucci suits this year, I guess.

Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood

This tracks. She LOVES to wear a huge skirt on-stage.

Bad Bunny

He won the first award of the night, for Best Latin Album, and he gave almost his entire acceptance speech in Spanish. It was great. His glasses... not so much.

Bad Bunny

He then performed wearing some sort of Evil Eye helmet...

... while suspended in THIS THING. Better hope the Fairy Godmother's magic doesn't wear off early, sir.

Chloe

He is not the only one who went for height.

Chloe

This looks a little... home-glued.

That's cool, though. Snag a copy of that one from Getty, Chloe.

Olivia Rodrigo

She sang "Traitor" and was in very good voice.

Coldplay and BTS

This was very shouty. I like BTS a lot, but Chris Martin live goes more for energy than vocal precision and that permeated this entire performance of "My Universe." It was still fun! But frenzied.

NKOTB and New Edition

Informative Caption lets us know: (Back, L-R) Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood of New Kids On The Block and (Front, L-R) Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell, Ralph Tresvant, Ronnie DeVoe, Michael Bivins, and Johnny Gill of New Edition. It actually looks great with the New Edition guys in such bright ensembles, and a New Kid in between.

Rachel Zegler and Ansel Elgort

We saw her on the red carpet, but he skipped it. I keep forgetting he is in West Side Story. Honestly... I cannot figure out how that happened? I watched the clip they introduced and thought, 'Is he worth all the trouble, Maria?' He just comes across very smarmy. But also flat. At least his suit fits.

Mickey Guyton

I wish she'd worn that on the red carpet.

BTS - V, Jungkook, Jimin, Rap Monster (RM), Suga, J-Hope and Jin

I never imagined that many people in a row would all look good in mustard, but they all did it, and all put their own spin on it. The styling for this group must be very very precise.

Tyler the Creator

This seemed to be about... him being locked out of the house in his boxers in the cold? Sure.

Cardi B Hosted, and Owned, the AMAs Telecast

No one else's outfits could compare.
