## Katy Perry

I think she looks absolutely stunning. It's an amazing dress, perfectly whittled down from its catwalk version, and her lively Alexis Carrington hair and red lip are divine with it. I love it when a big personality finds a way to show it on a red carpet without resorting to cheap tricks -- she looks elegant, but absolutely far from boring.

I can write WORDS about this and actually have it be on-theme. Except I don't mean it the way we usually mean WORDS, because I think it's tremendous.

And of course, her performance was typically understated and tasteful.

At least it's colorful; the controversial thematic stuff was NOT very well played and she souned horrendous (karma?). Plus the song felt like a sonic "Wrecking Ball" ripoff, which is interesting because people have said "Roar" sounds like a ripoff of Sara Bareilles's "Brave." Somebody needs to have a conversation with her producers, no?

[AMAs Well Played: Katy PerryOn the runway, I thought this was "for the wedding of the man who WRONGED YOU," but that's because it was shown with a tulle veil of sorts. I applaud Katy Perry's unusual restraint in leaving the frippery at home. \[Photos: Getty\]![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/451785477.xml)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/amas-well-played-katy-perry-11-2013/)
