12TH ANNUAL SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARDS ARRIVALS, LOS ANGELES, AMERICA - 29 JAN 2006
Amy was up here for Junebug, and... you can really tell this was before she hit her groove with a stylist. I went looking for a dress credit, and didn't find one, but did stumble upon a lot of places that called this "quirky-chic." I would argue it's neither.

This was the cast nomination for Doubt. The dress may have been Giambattista Valli? It's definitely pretty good, especially when you compare it to the slide before and the slide after...

It fits like a glove, but it should be someone else's dress. This glorified neck sling is all wrong on her, and part of that might be that the makeup is giving her NO help.

THIS, though. It's Antonio Berardi and it's one of my favorite things she's ever worn. It's fantastic.

There's not much to love or hate about this? It's fine. It fits. I suspect how you feel about it depends heavily on whether you think the jewelry looks like expensive sea slugs. (She was nominated for Arrival, which is forever and always my JUSTICE FOR AMY ADAMS Oscar complaint. She didn't even get nominated! Boot Natalie Portman in Jackie or Meryl in Florence Foster Jenkins, and then give it to her over Emma Stone! Someone please have Marty McFly go back and correct this.)

Wearing Celine, Custom
I did not expect this silhouette on her. It's kind of cool? I DO think it being black makes it seem more serious, in a way that works in its favor.
