Cate presented an achievement award to Amy, who, by the way, is fabulous in Arrival. Go see it. Anyhoo, Cate the Great is giving her all to this funky pantsuit and top, which is giving her abdomen colorful fangs and yet I'm still on board with it. Honestly, the thoroughly average fit of the pants is my primary problem. Maybe it's just that she's got her hand stuffed in her pocket. Still, she gets high marks for degree of difficulty and a good score for making the shirt and jacket work; the pants just sadly look like she borrowed them from a touring production of Oliver.

These aviator frames for regular glasses have been making the rounds, most notably looking insane on Khloe Kardashian and Jennifer Aniston. Cate, of course, makes them look like a completely normal thing to have, because that's just what she does. Like, these remind me of the novelty glasses I -- um I mean Santa -- put in the beans' stockings last year, which are a straw, and when you drink through it the liquid zips around your face before going into your mouth. Cate would, it's worth noting, also look good in those.

Not loving the black lace bralet/cami we're seeing under the blue tux. I think I'd like to unfug this and make it a more fitted coat to her curves, and fixing it so that she could wear it without an undershirt and yet also not flash us the entire universe. I sometimes think formal suits like this need either to go all or nothing on the shirt underneath; full blouse, or full monty.

Also: She's lightened her hair, right? At first I thought she'd gone back to her natural blond, but then I looked closer and there's still some strawberrty in this. But it's definitely trending in a Present-Day Kidman direction, yes? AM I RIGHT TO BE WORRIED? HASHTAG SAVE THE GINGERS.
