So... I think she looks GREAT in this? I can't decide if this is a natural evolution of Carrie, or just an outfit Wardrobe put together well, but it really works on her. The dress is a caftan situation by Marrakshi Life, and I think the gorgeous coat is Vivienne Westwood, based on the tags on the official costume page. The boots go all the way up like that. I don't love them on the whole, like for myself, but I do agree they finish that dress nicely.

One reason SJP is a good egg: She knows she will be papped — this is gangbusters press for the show -- and so she decorated her bag with post-its promoting certain candidates in big races (BETO TX, UNDERWOOD IL, DEMMINGS FL, RYAN OH, BENNET CO, CORTEZ-MASTRO NV). Vogue did a weird gushy IG post about what a sea change this is for Carrie, who hates politics, but like… am I crazy or is this just SJP being herself between shots?!? It would be bonkers to date the episode by having Carrie stump for these long-over races.

She also likes to carry shoppers that she clearly got from donating to campaigns, as she's doing here in shoes we've already seen and a very ritzy skirt.

And again! Different candidate, similar bag. She's a good egg, using her platform like that. (Which, yes, I obviously think because I vote blue.) However, what in the unholy hell is this outfit. The blouse? Fine! The shoes? Sure! But the PANTS. They are leg of mutton trousers and I for one must pass. But I've been misaligned with everyone's taste in pants lately, so what do I know. Maybe they'll be at The Gap in three months.

I don't know if Cynthia Nixon is here directing, or acting. She looks vexed. Maybe she's mentally reviewing her lines for The Gilded Age.
