# Angela Bassett Had a GREAT Time This Year

Think about all of what Angela Bassett had going on in 2018: The premiere of 911 -- and then another premiere of 911, because it became a hit and got a second season -- *Mission: Impossible Fallout*, an appearance on *American Horror Story*, recurring voice work on *Bojack Horseman*, voicing a character in *Bumblebee,* and oh yeah, that little indie flick called *Black Panther*. No wonder we saw a lot of her. She chose a lot of pantsuits, jumpsuits, and a couple sheers, and let's be honest: Not all of them are great. Some of them are majestic, but some of them are terrible, or hilarious, or hilarrible. But it's a fascinating array nonetheless, and when I am 60, I hope for even a FRACTION of the way she's so confident and in command of her own awesomeness.

She went with peach velvet for a recent *Black Panther* screening (to remind Academy voters that it's legit, I believe). I kind of wish she'd worn it with black leather pants.

The turquoise earrings are just perfect with this.

Oh, Angela. This needs to be burned. LOOK AT YOUR HEAD. It deserves the world, and this is a very sad corner of it.

That's a Siriano jumpsuit that I SORT OF like? The idea is really fun and she's doing what she can, but it might be a bit snug. Although sometimes these things just sort of turn on you as the night wears on, and maybe it looked fine at the beginning.

That's a suit from a menswear line, and I think dipping into that well was genius. It's a fabulous look on her, and it makes me excited anew to see what sort of creativity Team Bassett is going to pour into 2019.
