One part of reboot culture appears to be wiping the slate as clean as you want it to be -- so, for example, *Will & Grace* coming back and just pretending its finale didn't exist. In this case, James Cameron is back on the Terminator franchise and has decided that none of the ones he didn't have a direct hand in are part of the canon -- which eliminates *T3*, *Terminator: Salvation*, *The Sarah Connor Chronicles*, and *Terminator: Genysis.* Ergo, *Terminator: Dark Fate* is effectively the third in a trilogy, and it's been making the overseas premiere rounds this week. I have actually not seen the first Terminator but I really, really love T2, so... hopefully this one is not wretched? Listen, just free up Linda Hamilton for that *Beauty and the Beast* reboot that no one has asked for until right this second, okay?
