Scarlett Johansson in Prada

This is... a rough draft, right? This is the scene in Dirty Dancing where Penny is helping Baby try on her mambo dress, and Baby leaves her Wonderbra on, and Penny laughs at her gently while pinning it for final alterations, correct? Even her makeup feels like it's the practice run. I just imagine her unzipping the garment bag and being like, "Is... this IT?"

Maya Hawke in Prada

I cannot make up my mind about this. It's a very whimsical Prada, which I enjoy, and it's at least DESIGNED, unlike Scarlett's. The whole thing has a carefully considered vibe, and I THINK it works, except that I'm not sure Maya Hawke can quite carry it. This is ALMOST trampling her?

She tried, though! She did have fun with it, and that helps.

Julia Garner in Gucci

This is nice on her -- often, her tastes run too wacky for me, so I appreciate that this has cool glamour.

Fan Bingbing in Tamara Ralph

Gorgeous, as ever.

Brie Larson in Chanel

This is... BETTER? I don't know if I LIKE it, exactly, but least it's playful and froofy, and not weighing her down. Of her Chanels, it has the most winsome personality.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson

Very regal.

Hope Davis in CH by Carolina Herrera

Hope came straight from Logan Roy's funeral, in this acceptable but not inspiring shirt-dress. Real talk: I want to know what's on the cutting room floor from last week's Succession, because she and The Other Sandy were just in the background of a couple shots. Was that it, or did they have stuff that got chopped because the episode was already long? I also hope nobody harassed her for spoilers.

Colin Jost and ScarJo

"Scarlett, we're at a party with one of the people who KNOWS THE ENDING TO SUCCESSION, we have to ask. Do you think she's in the finale? The board probably has to be and she's on teh board..."

Bryan Cranston and Robin Dearden

"I'll get it out of her. I'm the one who knocks, missy. It's time to talk."

Maya Hawke and Rita Wilson and Hope Davis

"Maybe I can CARVE the spoilers out of her with EYE LASERS."

"Oh shit it worked! Rita, the show ends with them becoming an Olympic curling team!!!"

Rupert Friend and Aimee Mullins

They look so delighted! They obviously ALSO heard the ending and are relieved they don't have to find a way to stream it this weekend from France.

Adrien Brody and Georgina Chapman

"Have they forgotten I was ALSO on Succession? I might tell people spoilers, if they would ASK."

Nancy Walls and Steve Carell

In another lifetime, we'd have gotten to see Michael Scott get a job at Waystar Royco.

Charlotte Le Bon

This started out fine and normal, and then veered into Crazytown. Bceause if you're wondering whether those are pants...

Charlotte Le Bon

YOU'RE CORRECT.

Karidja Toure

Did this really need the boob fringe?

Rudy Gobert

After his NBA season ended, Rudy here went into one of those Darkness Retreats that Aaron Rodgers did, and apparently came out of it understanding that his destiny was to go to Cannes.

Lori Harvey

That fabric is a little muddy.

Cindy Kimberly

Listen, there were a lot of butts at this premiere. I'm not going to show all of them to you but you can trust that they're there. I hope Cindy Kimberly is related to Emily Kimberly, and her brother, Edward Kimberly.

Leila Depina

You can rest comfortably knowing that the back is a thong. This entire "dress" looks like she's wearing those little metal lanyard chains they use at conferences to hang your credentials.

Valentina Sampaio

I AM going to show you this butt, because its Prime Meridian was the entire point of this outfit. She LITERALLY framed it WITH A HEART.

Ana Girardot

I like this! Also, it doesn't have a butt window.

Olivia Culpo in Miss Sohee

Oh, my, no. This is LIKE a cheek window, but north. That drop-waisted skirt is just... this whole thing reads so heavy.

Jasmine Tookes

That's gorgeous.

Georgia Fowler

I'd have liked to see where either of these dresses were REALLY going before they crashed into each other.

Leonie Hanne

The dress itself doesn't live up to that amazing cape.

That's TRULY a Cannes Stairs moment. It's perfect.

Caylee Cowan

That's a bit Vegas.

Frederique Bel

That little jacket is giving all of the zest.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Fendi

Wow, people are REALLY into this "cut it straight across the bra" design. We've seen it from other Fendi dresses and now Prada is doing it... This Fendi is BETTER than Scarlett's, but in general I'm lukewarm at best on that concept.

Jason Schwartzman in Prada

This is the photo of him that Prada sent out, and the fact that he's off to the side in it really makes me laugh.

Coco Rocha

I feel for that girl behind her, trying to bring her posing A-Game, potentially not knowing she's standing next to the Queen of Pose. This isn't even great by Coco's standards, but her face alone is enough -- she is modeling through an entire birdhouse.

The Stars Came Out For Asteroid City in Cannes

Not ALL of them, sadly, but many!
