Emmy Raver-Lampman
Emmy stars in the movie. If you saw Hamilton the last time it was in L.A., you most likely got her as Angelica. I am intrigued by her blazer, puzzled by her jeans, unconvinced that they belong together, and THRILLED TO SEE HER.
Daveed Diggs
Emmy is dating Daveed, or at least I assume she still is, because he came to lend her support. He would ALSO have looked good in her jacket, frankly.
Behold them in their cool matching masks. I was hoping they'd post where they got them, but as of this writing, I haven't seen it yet. I'll update if I do. I LOVE that you can tell they're both grinning.
Tracie Thoms
This is a delightfully breezy summer dress.
Raquel Horsford and Ahmed Best
These two are married; she's an actress, and he is best known for being the voice of Jar Jar Binks. I want to tug up that bodice a little and tuck in his shirt, and it feels so delicious to have dumb nits to pick again. But she is at least in a pattern and great lipstick, and I think I see some funky socks there, Ahmed, which pleases me.
More masks! I wonder if they were provided, or if people brought their own. Also her dress looks better from this angle. I still want to tighten the straps, I think?
Kelen Coleman
Were you ever so happy to see a jumpsuit, any jumpsuit? (You will think I have lost it, but this top almost seems TOO hoiked.)
Cedric Yarbrough
Hello good sir! I miss Speechless.
Cooper J. Friedman and J. Lee
J. Lee, in the tartan, is the writer/director/lead, and Cooper is in the film. They both look great.
Taye Diggs
Taye, on the other hand, looks like he went KonMari wild during Covid and threw out too many of his clothes. I love his Doc boots, at least, but I am sincerely wondering if he came straight from a fishing trip.
They helpfully got shots of the temperature check at the entrance, presumably just to... convey that it happened. I don't know if I understand how helpful they are, given that you can have Covid without a fever or be pre-symptomatic, but I also realize it's one of the few methods of detecting ANYTHING can be cheaply and widely employed and every little bit helps, etc.
And here is the screening setup on the roof. I love that it appears they're all wearing headsets, so that it wasn't a noise nuisance. It looks like a very pleasant night, and I hope the system works -- honestly, as much as it's bad for business for me to say this, maybe one product of this will be a bit more austerity in terms of the size of these events. You can still bring on the fashion, but maybe 300 people don't need to come to everything.
