We're getting a glut of film festivals right now, full of movies trying to nudge into the release schedule where I can't tell if they'll turn out to be Oscar contenders or also-rans. Will they be an *If I Had Legs I'd Kick You*, or will they be a *Nightbitch*? Ayo plays the young version of Sally in *Clarissa*, a modern-day retelling of Virginia Woolf's *Mrs. Dalloway,* which seems to be getting a positive reaction. That makes me cautiously optimistic. Listen, universe, I'm just looking for awards-season movies that won't feel like homework, okay? Is that too much to ask?!?
