Lady Gaga in custom Ralph Lauren

I was just wondering where on earth Ralph Lauren has gone to -- aside from designing hideous Olympics and Wimbledon stuff -- and then this turns up. Did I unwittingly summon him? It's great, though; obviously I am in love with the color, and Gaga looks every inch a major movie star in it.

This picture catches the light better, so you can see the green... and also, let's face it, we wanted to get our faces right up into that necklace. I trust Gaga never to punt on accessories.

Alana Haim in Louis Vuitton

This is an unexpected color, AND a surprisingly quaint cut. I realized I'm so used to seeing her as part of a coordinating threesome -- and often they're wearing wild, wild stuff -- that I have no idea what Alana Haim, Individual Person, would wear if she didn't have the rock band going. This is nice enough, but perhaps a tad Vintage Bridesmaid.

Alana and Este Haim

Did they just not give Middle Haim a ticket? How do you not offer one Haim a plus two, so that all Haims can be present? Side note: Este is giving the MEANEST old-school governess vibes in this photo, in a way that I love. Her red-carpet side-eye is FIERCE and I do not want to run afoul of it.

Lest you get the wrong impression that I think Este Haim is mean in reality, here she is being very chipper. These two seem like a hoot; they were laughing hysterically in the pics from inside the event, too. I hope they had a ball.

Montana Brown

Montana came to fame from Love Island UK, I believe? Generally I try to keep these to people we know (photos are pricey!) but I could not bypass this minty monstrosity, although I suspect it is extremely soft.

Becky Hill

I downloaded her because when I saw the tiny thumbnail I didn't look at her name -- silly me -- and thought it was LeAnn Rimes. The good news for Becky is, maybe she can play LeAnn Rimes in a movie about... whatever LeAnn Rimes is up to now. This is all fine though! I like her jewels.

Millicent Simmonds in Oscar de la Renta

She was up for the BAFTA Rising Star award -- she is in both Quiet Place movies -- and this is delightful on her. It's also neat to have had two deaf actors honored at this BAFTAs (Troy Kotsur won for CODA).

Daniel Kaluuya in Prada

AND THEN WHOA. Cookie Monster definitely just got a shiver down his spine. That could be his FAMILY on Daniel's coat.

What a lovely color, But I'm a little... bored? Maybe that's not it, but for some reason I'm not able to give my whole heart to this.

She looks so much like Anne Hathaway sometimes. This is a fun party frock, but it looks like it might need a bit more... internal structure?

I do not think it needed the peach wings.

And then: KAPOW. I was going to make a joke about how somebody kindly made a sibling for Gwynnie's turd Fendi so that it won't be lonely in the Awards Show Hall of Shame, but what sets this one slightly apart is that there's a lot of pretty detailing on it (which Gwyneth's definitely does not have). It's actually a shame -- all of that work is hard to focus on because I am pretty sure I can see both her nipples. HOWEVER: Daisy Ridley, call Rebecca for tips on how to rock the short 'do.
