I am pathologically unable to remember that the designer here is DEMNA, not DENMA. I finally decided my trick is going to be that it's spelled the same way as DAMN, and I'll just have to hope I don't write "Damna" by mistake. Also, unrelated, the first model (not pictured above) looks like John Oliver playing the role of Lady Gaga. I don't know why that's true, but it is. You'll see.

The show is very busy; [*W* interpreted that as a rumination on overstimulation](https://www.wmagazine.com/fashion/balenciaga-fall-2024-runway-photos?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), but [Fashionista reported](https://fashionista.com/2024/03/balenciaga-fall-winter-2024-collection?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) that Demna's own show notes -- which I guess also existed in audio form? -- said he was looking at luxury and true creativity as one and the same: things that are in short supply right now. And I guess turning pants into a shirt, bags into separates, and backpack into a dress IS creative?!? But is it *necessary*? I guess luxury items like Balenciaga, by definition, are *not*. So maybe that fits.
