Diane Kruger in Jason Wu
It is sincerely so nice to see Jason Wu on a red carpet again. This gown is doing a lot of things that don't always work for me -- that faux-peplum blousing, elastic around the thighs, a pointless bow -- but dammit, it's really well-made totally works on her. It's a good example of the effect being greater than the actual sum of the parts.
I am NOT a fan of the beribboned hair with this, though.
Al Roker and Deborah Roberts
Deborah is repping the bright yellow -- I feel like the Yellow Lobby has argued successfully that it must be present this fall at every event -- and doing it with panache, although I wish she had more fun accessories.
Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy
This is as-expected.
There is a mild lacy back surprise, but otherwise... the outfit is beside the point, and the main takeaway is that her crisp bob is GREAT and no Heather you do not need to cut your hair, WE'VE BEEN THROUGH THIS BEFORE, MANY TIMES.
Kristin Chenoweth
This is pretty, and dramatically fancy. I don't know what's around her wrist, but it does not seem to be a big-ass expensive bangle, which is what I would want.
with Dove Cameron
I don't completely understand where Dove Cameron is with her personal style right now. The eye makeup and the giant nails are a little distracting, as is the fringe skirt, and... the silver parts look glued on. It's just very messy and all over the place, to me.
Prabal Gurung
He, however, looks both sparkly and crisp. Very dashing.
Hanne Gaby Odiele
"... I thought it was the New York City Bowie Gala?!? It's not??? Dammit."
