1989: Kim Basinger

It seems Vicki Vale is indeed wearing a full-body veil. She's a journalist; maybe she takes homophones very seriously.

Tom Selleck and Jillie Mack

Oh, Tom. Listen, you're not obligated to have a mustache forever, I know that. But it is REALLY weird to see it start to be absorbed by a beard coming up around it.

SJP and RDJ

His blazer is quite smart. She might be wearing a smock?

Catherine O'Hara

She is still married to this man, Bo Welch. He was the production designer on Beetlejuice, and they met, and that was that. I enjoy when Hollywood love stories pan out.

Henry Winkler

I have serious reservations about The Fonz's attire here.

Deidre Hall

At this time I believe Marlena was presumed dead in a plane crash. The lengths one must go to in Salem just to have quiet time to catch a movie! My goodness.

Winona Ryder

I assume she, like Catherine O'Hara, is there because of the Tim Burton connection (Beetlejuice again).

Valerie Bertinelli and Eddie Van Halen

The couple that hairs together... does not always stay together, I guess.

Sammy Hagar

That is a WILD suit.

Glenn Close

And here is Glenn Close, noted Batman aficionado.

Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith

And here is Don Johnson, noted Don Johnson aficionado. (The '80s really were a time of shapelessness, though. Is Melanie in a blazer, or an actual coat? In the '80s there was so little difference.)

1992: Michael Keaton and Courteney Cox

For some reason, I didn't have a good Keaton shot from the 1989 premiere, but that's okay, because now we get to remind ourselves that THESE TWO dated. For six years, too! 1989-1995, per Wikipedia. That is also where I learned this: "Keaton, a longtime Pittsburgh resident and fan of its sports teams, negotiated a break in his Batman movie contract in case the Pittsburgh Pirates made the playoffs that year, although they ultimately did not."

Michelle Pfeiffer and Fisher Stevens

Look at those thick hose. That dress is also nothing to put on your Pinterest board. But her smile is what wins the day. (We were discussing old movies to show the boys, and we brought up Short Circuit as having potential... until we remembered Fisher Stevens's part in that movie. Pass.)

Will and Sheree Smith

Life is long, and never have I felt that more than when compiling these slideshows and realizing just HOW LONG some celebrities have lived in the public eye. You know it, and yet... somehow you forget just how long it is.

Wesley Snipes

Dapper, sir!

Catherine Zeta-Jones

This is a brief detour to the London premiere for a young CZJ, because... I don't know, I thought you'd like to say hello.

Khrystyne Haje

Head of the Class had just ended, so this would still have been a timely celeb appearance. However, I don't know why she's dressed as a Disney Store nightgown prototype.

Christian Slater and Nina Huang

I have to say, major credit to Nina Huang for wearing something in 1992 that she could pull out today and wear again. The only item I can say that about are my Umbros.

We Also Might As Well Round Out The Early Batmans

Both the Keaton Batman movies premiered around this time, eons ago.
