The thing is, Jake is bearded fairly often. (Insert snickers from everyone who thinks he is the Toothy Tile of gossip legend.) And yet I still never entirely recognize him when he's sporting the lush facial growth. I will say that he looks very nice in his suit at Chez Dumpster, even if he also looks slightly like he is the Dumpster's attorney and he is trying politely to shoo away the media so he can discuss his client's harrassment lawsuit.

This is a recent shot of him with the beard, sans sunglasses, which makes it easier to ogle. Um, I mean, evaluate. It actually kind of suits him, I have to say. He's like a very soulful young Bee Gee, just stayin' alive and sweating out his night fevers, like you do. Actually, though, he ALSO looks kind of like Zach Galifianakis's strait-laced and serious brother, the one who tends to disapprove of Such Shenanigans and whose passive-aggression starts all the arguments at Thanksgiving.

Here, we have stubbly Jake, hanging out on his mom's movie set, willing his garden to grow. Right now I'm voting for the full shrubbery over the young lawn.

Well, those eyes don't suck, that's for sure. Although I'm sure Taylor Swift would croon a different tune.

Okay, this might be the same degree of stubblyness as the previous photo? I can't tell. But you get the gist. Jake definitely looks younger when he's more clean-faced, and usually I prefer a smooth chin to one with scruff, but I actually kind of dig the chinscaping when he keeps it lush yet manicured. A well-tended beard can be a very effective one. And yes, the Toothy Tile die-hards are laughing again here. But that is a whole other poll for a whole other site.
