Lizzo

Lizzo has done a lot for the world, not least of which is making the flute sexy.

She and her backup dancers are joyful and wonderful and make you feel like you got invited to the best party in the world.

Taraji P. Henson

Here is a sentence I've technically never said, and yet, I feel like I say it all the time: This did not need the pubic pelvic zigs.

Taraji P. Henson

This is a PARTY, but a party that needs a hoik.

I quite like this. It's like a Project Runway challenge with industrial paper towels, but done BEAUTIFULLY.

That's also extremely fun.

Taraji P. Henson

Well, hey, I'm glad you could pay SOMEONE to wear that catsuit.

TPH

"Watch out Maleficent, I'M COMING."

TPH

I think I like this, but it's surprisingly low-key for the gig.

TPH

I wish we could see the rest of this. I don't love what I can see? At least, not the boob cups.

And it took me a second in whizzing through photos to realize this wasn't the same dress. Even though it's blue and the other one is black, it doesn't hit a very different note overall.

TPH

Whereas this is somehow a wrap dress, a coat, and a nightgown, all in one. That might be too many notes for one outfit.

Jazmine Sullivan

I WANT to love this, but it's basically just expensive hair plugs on fabric, yes? However, Jazmine used her mic spot for good, to remind all the men in the audience that this isn't just our fight; it's theirs, too.

Muni Long

This, on its own, is a fantastic and gorgeous visage. What a way to kick off your song, right?

BET Awards 2022, Show, Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, USA - 26 Jun 2022

THE DRESS WAS PEOPLE. Specifically, black-clad dancers holding fans in the shape of a skirt, and it appears that as she sang, they broke apart and then formed different patterns behind her.

It's just really fabulous -- I love this whole concept.

Latto in Mugler

Latto was moved to have won, and not, as you might think, upset that she left her shirt in the limo, or worried about her two sprained ankles.

Jack Harlow and Brandy

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out if that's an acid-wash catsuit on Brandy. It's Diesel, so it MIGHT be?

Kirk Franklin

Kirk is a famed leader of gospel choirs, and he looks awesome in this.

Ne-Yo

He looks like he could be leading a very cool young church.

Marsai Martin

She is so lovely, but this is just too many ideas. A problem that I wish I had! But also a problem when it comes to an outfit.

GoGo Morrow

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out if what I'm seeing is a result of the lighting, or the actual garments. I'm still not sure.

Doechii

I did not realize until after I downloaded it that I THINK her boob is jerking out of that top? There's no visible nipple here but... is that what's happening? That has to suck when you're on-stage and you probably are so into the performance that you can't really deal with wrangling.

Mariah Carey

And we shall close with Mariah, looking soothingly EXACTLY like Mariah always looks.

Lizzo Is a Delight That The World Does Not Deserve

And yet she blesses us -- here, at the BETs show.
