Lizzo in Christian Siriano

This is a custom Siriano piece using a fabric from his recent Spring/Summer 2021 fashion show. Lizzo looked great in it, radiated joy, and also spoke impactfully: "When people try to suppress something, it's normally because that thing holds power. They're afraid of your power. There's power in who you are. There's power in your voice. So whether it's through music, protest, or your right to vote, use your power, use your voice, and refuse to be suppressed." Amen. And I'm especially glad she wore this and said that because..

Demi Lovato

... Demi Lovato performed an anti-Trump song called "Commander In Chief" with this graphic behind her, and NBC cut the graphic out because it was clearly a direct plea not to vote for Trump. This could be because MSNBC is now hosting Trump in a Town Hall that it scheduled opposite Biden's, which is totally irresponsible and frankly unnecessary -- do it before or after so that voters can watch both -- but I also don't know if there are other weird FCC rules at play here. I'm just glad they didn't cut Lizzo's speech, which was also fairly clearly not pro-Trump.

Demi

I was like, 'IS THAT A JACKET WITH HER FACE ON IT?' No, Heather. It's her reflection. I don't even know what my eyes are doing anymore.

Sia

Guess who??? That's right: Garth Brooks.

Garth Brooks

Just kidding, obviously Garth left his cape and bow at home and wore jeans -- which Jess decided were not intriguing enough for her post on intriguing pants, so I included them specifically to complain that his new facial-hair configuration looks like he swiped his chin with shoe polish.

Sia

Back to Sia, who continues to perform dressed like a Sanrio-designed sorceress. (And, no, it is not true that she never shows her face; she has done so many times, including this one last year, when she walked a red carpet and presented an award and chatted up Kate Hudson and took copious pictures with her actual head on display. It's just stage shtick.)

Brandy

Jessica and I both thought this was a dress, but now I wonder if it's shorts? AGAIN WITH MY EYES. It is definitely overwhelming her.

John Legend

John came out and performed a song that was dedicated to Chrissy, called "Never Break" -- which was painfully apt given their recent tragedy (I assume it was written beforehand but maybe not; maybe he just works fast). I felt it in his voice a few times. That was all so heartbreaking.

Allison Holker

Allison is a dancer who's done So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing With The Stars , so apparently she is correct about thinking she can dance. (She's also married to tWitch, the DJ on Ellen's various shows, whom she met on SYTYCD.) I would like to see her on So You Think You Can Dress, also, or even So You Think That's a Dress.

Nicole Richie

She looks like she's both protesting and mourning the death of the Miss America Swimsuit Competition.

Doja Cat

Are we not done with this YET?

Doja Cat

That bodice barely fits -- it's in serious danger of sliding off that which it's trying to cover -- but semi-Marilyn, semi-Eurovision On Ice vibe is better than the glitter bodystocking at least.

Garcelle Beauvais

I appreciate a hit of citrus.

Taraji P. Henson in Alexandre Vauthier

I don't love ANY of this, and I think it's partly because she went so hard at the body oil. I can practically see MY reflection in that.

En Vogue

LEGENDS. May we all free our minds, so the rest will follow.

Cher

Speaking of legends. Although this outfit looks like a unicorn sneezed on it and then ate half the skirt.

Wrapping Up The Billboards With Lizzo and Demi
I wish that were a show.
