# Billy Porter's Tony Outfit Last Year Was Unforgettable

Having just cracked wise that Anne Hathaway was garbed in an ill-conceived drapery, I'm pivoting to an example of someone looking amazing in an *actual* curtain. Billy Porter's outfit here was custom made from the *Kinky Boots* show curtain in just three weeks, by Celestino Couture (aka, Sergio Guadarrama from the most recent season of *Project Runway*) using only tulle to flesh it out. The train unhooked so that he could just wear the suit:

And it holds up! (I also now want him to reimagine *The Music Man*?) But I still think its best impact moment was when he walked out on-stage initially:

It looks like he's rising up from curls of cotton-candy smoke. ... Damn, maybe it's the whole concept of Willy Wonka that he should reboot. Billy Wonka would, among many improvements, almost certainly lock Grandpa Joe outside. Mysterious return to health, my ass, Joe. I hope the other three grandparents made him sleep on the floor when he got home.
