It was! I do agree with a lot of folks in the chat who thought this was underwhelming without the....fronds. But would we think that if we'd seen it without the fronds in the first place?

I love her, and her head looks so good but this dress is....wildly not great. The black bit was straitjacket-y and the entire effect was a underwhelming. I'm not sure what she's doing, stylistically, this awards season.
