... her appearance on the red carpet. That is a gorgeous jacket. It doesn't really go with the dress, but whatever, Blake Lively is nothing if not frequently over-composed. Imagine her in that coat with even a simple white cami and leather pants. The coat would GLEAM.

Then she popped off the coat. Thank you, Blake! The base garment is a Fall 2018 dress that was styled radically differently on the runway-- it took me a second to recognize it, and it's very interesting proof of how things change when you peel them away from chaotic runway styling. (I believe this is the coat.) If it was between wearing the dress with that hideous bra/slip under it, and wearing something else, I honestly would have chosen something else. The bra is truly awful. Also: the overskirt wasn't in the original styling, and it's an interesting touch. It doesn't really jibe for me, but it's intriguing now that the coat isn't there to compete with it. She wore it during the show, in her seat. But...

Now suddenly she's going back home to her hotel, and she IS wearing the sparkly grid-like skirt again, but appears to be CARRYING the dress she had been wearing UNDERNEATH it (and in the previous slide). She's also wearing the ornate coat again. So did she... I mean, is she just wearing her shapewear? Did she put the silver skirt back on to make it look LESS like she's just wearing shapewear? What HAPPENED? Did she spill on the main dress? Or get worried about snagging it? And... I mean, I guess she gets to keep it? Questions.
