It's boobs! It's leg! It's Boobs Legsly! This was not, of course, what spawned that silly nickname, but it was one of many examples of why it was apt. This is a great color, but I wish it had picked a sleeve, among other things. It's also so in-between in other ways: It's not hyper-glam, and it's not young and fresh, so she's in a weird nether place.
2010 in Marchesa
"Listen, Blake, we've cracked it. You're going to look like you were swimming in an old-timey bathing costume when you picked up a rare sea fungus."
2011 in Chanel

Apparently Burberry used a combination of laser-cut appliques and hand-stitching to make this fit the Manus x Machina theme. All the Burberry outfits that year were centered around British flowers.

This doesn't seem to fit Rei Kawakubo, but she is doing the maybe-you-see-me, maybe-you-don't semi-sheer thing very well here with a lot of delicate work and then that explosion of feathers. I do genuinely think that Blake has taken to picking outfits specifically for the stairs picture.

Gotta get that peek of thigh in, right? I admit, often, that I am terrible at interpreting these themes. I don't know if she's accurately referencing any particular iconography -- a lot of people seemed to figure any headdress was apt -- but this IS unforgettable. She's excellent at exactly this.
