# Brad Pitt Probably Hopes These Dogs Will Make You Like Him

Brad Pitt is promoting *Heart of the Beast*, about a special forces officer who crashes in Alaska and then forms a bond with a dog, or somesuch. So of course, he arrived at the premiere in Tennessee in a full camo suit, a bit of a lazy attempt at theme dressing, looking for all the world like a dude who wants you to think he's *cool* and so chill and whatnot. He looks fine. Whatever. He mostly looks like a dude who could play Glen Powell's dad. Perhaps if they make *Twi3ers*, he can make a cameo and then get sucked up into some kind of triple-double cyclocane and spurted up into the atmosphere.

Wikipedia lists four cast members, and one is the pup in question, so this movie is basically two hours of Brad Pitt and a dog. Which makes me wonder if someone on Team Brad Pitt a couple years ago was like, "Listen. Your kids sure seem to hate you. You're not gonna keep *that* quiet forever. We need to dangle Man's Best Friend in front of them as a distraction." Cut to this year: His children are indeed actively and publicly excising both him and his surname from their lives, and *Brad Pitt Loves a Dog* hits the big-screen, and he shows up at the premiere with a bunch of the goodest boys from what seems to be a local rescue.

"I'm so fucking good at this," his manager probably said, leaning back in his chair and putting his feet up on his desk before lighting a cigar. Except even Brad doesn’t seem sold. If there's another premiere and he carries the actual dog co-star onto the carpet, then we'll *know* the wheels are turning.
