She looks magnificent. This whole Vegas show situation is so weird -- why it was cancelled SO last-minute, and why in general, and how on the one hand people said it was stage fright and then the next second she was like, "See you at the BRITs!!!!" That left a weird taste in my mouth (and I was already a little bit over her after that absurd Oprah special/concert/coronation, and I don't really like her new album?). That's a lot of complicated feelings to have about a person I have loved, but hot damn, this dress is incredible on her.

I also think... I know Vegas is Vegas, and people expect spectacle, but the magic of Adele has been that she can transfix a room when it's just her and a microphone. Just put her in a series of impossibly sparkly outfits and let her stand there -- or sit on a piano -- and belt it out. That's truly all it needs.

This is fine. I guess she wanted something... more relaxed, comparatively, for her acceptance? (She won Artist of the Year.)
