I didn't have a fashion credit at the time of this writing, but I'm GUESSING this is Robert Wun (CONFIRMED, it is!), as all the pleat work out there lately seems to be coming from him. Letitia won for Best Joint Performance alongside...

Tamara Lawrance
25th British Independent Film Awards, Arrivals, Old Billingsgate, London, UK - 04 Dec 2022
... Tamara here, for The Silent Twins (based on a true story of twin sisters who were institutionalized after years of communicating only with each other). I like the idea of nominating a joint performance -- the idea that each half is too important to the whole. And certainly Tamara can fit another performance inside that coat-dress. There might be two other performances in her shoulder pads alone.

That is a TRULY enormous purse. I know some of it is just decorative, but still. This whole look is slick on her.

Safia Oakley-Green
25th British Independent Film Awards, Arrivals, Old Billingsgate, London, UK - 04 Dec 2022
Safia won Breakthrough Performer. She looks lovely, and I'm just sorry she clearly had to finish this herself with glue stick after the original designer hurled their sewing machine into the sea.

Best British Independent Film - Aftersun - Charlotte Wells, Barry Jenkins, Mark Ceryak, Adele Romanski, Amy Jackson, presented by Daisy Edgar Jones
25th British Independent Film Awards, Press Room, Old Billingsgate, London, UK - 04 Dec 2022
Daisy is not in Aftersun; they had her present, which is nice because she got to hand something to her Normal People costar Paul. Daisy looks lovely and I mistook her this time for Claire Foy (as opposed to how I usually think she's Anne Hathaway) and everyone else also looks smart. Charlotte loves to put a funky shirt under her suits and I applaud this.

This is VERY pretty. She looks like a pricey chair, and I mean that nicely.

I watched The Crown, and I thought Olivia made a pretty good Camilla in the end, though the season itself was terrible. (Rhashan is also an actor; they've been married since 2003, an industry success story).
Rosy McEwen

Best Lead Performance - Rosy McEwen - Blue Jean
25th British Independent Film Awards, Press Room, Old Billingsgate, London, UK - 04 Dec 2022
Rosy won best lead for a movie called Blue Jean, which follows the schisms in the life of a teacher in Britain during the "ratified homophobia" of Margaret Thatcher's Section 28 bill -- which was 1987's version of Ron DeSantis's "Don't Say Gay" bullshit. It's supposed to be very good and unfortunately very resonant with today. Rosy looks cute here, if perhaps in slight need of a hoik, and she wore something that looks nice with the trophy she's holding. Double bonus.

Best Supporting Performance - Kerrie Hayes - Blue Jean
25th British Independent Film Awards, Press Room, Old Billingsgate, London, UK - 04 Dec 2022
Kerrie, the Best Supporting Performer, ALSO coordinates nicely with the blue pyramid (and is also in Blue Jean).

I can never see Elaine and NOT think of Harper's Island, the one-season CBS horror series that I and about four other people watched religiously. Her dress benefits from zooming in a bit; from afar it just seems crinkly.

This photo makes me laugh. Alexandra looks like she's cosplaying Kate or Diana (in fact, I said the same when Margot Robbie wore it), and Susan looks like she's in a sexy new West End romp about the Philadelphia Cream Cheese angels.

Samantha Morton

Samantha won a career achievement award. For a hot second I thought she had two walking sticks with her. The green is nice, and her face certainly stands out, but this is a bit dark and dreary for standing behind a podium to give an acceptance speech. The best bit is at the bottom (although even that is strangely drapey).

If you're thinking this is the dress I mentioned in the main post that involves the back fringe, YOU ARE RIGHT. You can see some of it here, so I guess it's also side-fringe.

That seems like it would be either ticklish, like that feeling when you have shed a hair onto your bare skin but can't see it, or just thwappy.

She is keeping it VERY simple. Maybe the Lord of the Rings tour tired her out. (She's quite good in that, at least in the 4 episodes I've seen.)

I REALLY thought she had one expressive cuff, until I looked properly and saw it's a purse. The theme of this is, once again, that I probably need an eye test.

I would say she's using a bra as a shirt, but there's so little to it that it almost looks like a bra worn backward. I would not object to salvaging the cardigan and starting over. The skirt looks like it snagged on several car doors.
