Olivia Rodrigo in Saint Laurent
I can't say I love this, but it does jibe with the '90s angst vibe. It's giving me Alanis crossed with a touch of Courtney Love; all it needs is Doc Martens.
Alanis
YAY ALANIS. These two women wrote albums that are, nearly in their entireties, SO SATISFYING to belt out in the car/the shower/into the screaming abyss. And they are unabashedly raw and confessional about their pain, which I admire. GET IT LADIES.
Bryan Adams
"You know, I imagined this day back when I got my first real six string, over at the 5 and Dime..."
Corey Hart
Corey leaned in every single photo. Perhaps, without his sunglasses at night, he couldn't orient himself.
David Foster and Katharine McPhee
I am frankly surprised David Foster wasn't inducted until now. You forget just HOW MANY iconic songs he's been part of, until you start reading his Wikipedia page and it just keeps coming. He looks fine! Katharine looks a little underdressed, maybe?
Deborah Cox
Deborah opened the show by covering Whitney's "I Have Nothing," which, yes, is a David Foster tune (he wrote it with Linda Thompson, to whom he was married at the time). I saw her in the musical of The Bodyguard, and she did indeed completely slay that song. It's a showstopper, so I don't envy anyone the fact that the ENTIRE EVENING had to proceed after that.
Charlotte Cardin
Those pants should be banished.
Ryan Peake and Chad Kroeger of Nickelback
And what would any night up North be be without Canadian royalty Nickelback.
