# Cannes Fug or Fab: Salma Hayek in Alexander McQueen

I am actually very close to liking this outright.

Truly, I think the dress is great on her. My hangups are that I think the serpentine arm cuff is cool but not perhaps sufficient -- does she need more bracelets on her other arm? -- and the giant platform shoes, the likes of which belong in *Grease* on the foot of a young Australian lass who is so busy pandering to her horndog greaser boyfriend that she failed to notice he'd been willing to raise his game. So, basically, it's like cooking a wonderful roast and then serving it garnished with only one tiny roasted potato and Hot Wheels car.
