First off, let's get real: This photo is mostly about the lipstick. She's at Cannes as a L'Oreal Ambassador, so risky makeup isn't that surprising, but I wonder if she'd look better in a slightly warmer purple?

This dress is lovely, though, in a way where it's also plausible that she just left the dress rehearsal for *Dangerous Liaisons*.

I will never ding a glorious caftan or caftan-adjacent gown, and I think she looks splendid in this.

I always love Elie Saab, but I really wish this were...you know, a color. It rather washes her out, and this beige fabric sort of downplays how great the detailing is. I wish it were just a bit...pinker?

What did I just say??

[Cannes Fugs and Fabs: Aishwarya RaiAishwarya Rai generally brings it to Cannes, but I have to admit, I feel a bit as if she's left some of it at home this time. \[Photos: Getty\]![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2016/05/gettyimages-531593852.jpg)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/cannes-fugs-and-fabs-aishwarya-rai-05-2016/)
