I just find this EXTREMELY GLAMOROUS. It's very much what the gorgeous American will wear when she arrives at the Fictional English Country House Time-Travel Murder Romance Miniseries of which I have not spoken lately because we were working on The Royal We, which DOES have romance AND a country house but no murder or time-travel OR DOES IT? Can't you just see her slinking into the drawing room in this, at which point all the men in the series fall madly in love with her? A martini might be involved.

Also, oh my God, Michael Caine is ALSO in said Fictional Mini-Series, OBVIOUSLY, right? How did we not decide that already? He even looks like he ought to be holding a drink in this shot.

I love a good, restrained train. I love the sleeves. I love the color. I think this is just a complete hit.

I also enjoy this. For other reasons. Namely, that IT'S TOTALLY CRAZY. Can we decide that, in the previous slide, Rachel Weisz was applauding the moxie required to wear this?

I just keep imagining the expression on everyone's faces when she emerged from the elevator in this. Also, when she tries to sit down. It's as if she arrived via sky-dive and is wearing her own deflated parachute. It's a hoot.

Jane DID NOT go understated for Cannes, and for that, I thank her heartily.

But this is legitimately fabulous -- not just ONLY IN CANNES, YOU MARVELOUS WOMAN Fabulous.

And though I think those shoes fell off the back of a truck going to France's Most Old-Fashioned Nursing Academy, this dress is ADORABLE.

Yes, you SHOULD be having a good time. You look GREAT today.
