All that stretchy-looking velvet... I don't know, I'd rather strip this down to the funky bodice that looks like expensive handbag patent-leather, and then find another skirt. Red velvet is a tough sell to me, outside baked goods and perhaps the occasional Santa hat.

And, matching red velvet shoes. To me, a bridge too far, no foot pun intended.

I genuinely thought this was going to turn out to be Rodarte. It's so post-apocalyptic. Or like she and Mr. Snuffleupagus just had the MOST exotic and surprising three-day romp.

SHE'S BACK, and she looks like a bride in Oz. [For her history at Cannes, visit her archive; you won't be sorry.] I am desperate to know what structure she has under there holding it up (Kat Graham once used styrofoam for a tall coif like this).

Aw, two of her hair pins are poking out of the top. I'm actually sorry I saw that. But seriously, how long do we think this took? And why a crimping iron? And wings? Is she dressed as heaven's most note worthy cabaret act, Maxi Pad?

She probably needed a night off after wearing that enormous Elie Saab. This is SO simple by comparison, but toting around all that tulle doesn't look as fun as the feathers.

HOWEVER, I prefer Naomi's tulle to this.

THE SNAKE NECKLACE RETURNS. But in a different metal than I've yet seen it. The dress is fine and functional and all that, but it's also a big meh.

That jewel in her knee region is... weird. Like they built the dress backwards.

This is unusual, with the black shirt and bow tie and then the shit in... olive? grey-green? Brown? It wouldn't have been my choice.

High-fashion tar, which I can't really get behind, much as I am not into ham and pineapple on pizza.

Sometimes seeing these things up close really does ruin things, too. I think illusion netting by and large looks REALLY lame up close, and this isn't changing that opinion.
