This is FANTASTIC on her. Now, I don't think this would work on J. Law -- I think it needs a woman who's seems like she's really lived a little; it's a VERY grown-up dress -- but it's wonderful, and it's wonderful on Marion.

I feel like we're about to walk into her living room to find her pouring a martini from a frosted sterling shaker, before she turns around dramatically and lights and cigarette meaningfully.

## Marion Cotillard in Filles à Papa

Her head looks wonderful. Her feet look like they're plotting against her, and they are out for blood.

## Marion Cotillard in Delpozo

And this is fully bonkers. I LOVE the pants, and I love the purple, and I even kind of love how she appears to be dressing as a high-fashion Elaine Stritch. BRING IT ON.

[Cannes Mostly Well Played, Marion CotillardI feel like a broken record - and, sidebar, I just thought about how there are a ton of people alive right now who understand the meaning of that phrase, but haven't literally experienced the actual broken record in action -- but why does Dior do so much better by everyone else than Jennifer Lawrence?![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2016/05/gettyimages-531597848.jpg)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/cannes-mostly-well-played-marion-cotillard-2-05-2016/)
