And this dress is simply amazing. There is a LOT happening with it, but the workmanship is divine, and somehow she's wearing it and not the other way around.

For those of you who want a full-head view of an updo (of which I am one). I think the braid actually starts behind the ear, even though it looks like it's unraveling a bit up there. I like her with a more casual hair, actually.

I am not wholly sold on the white shoe -- although I LIKE these specific white shoes -- but I like this on her as well. It's so ladylike and pleasantly prim. Bonus points for never skimping on the bracelets.

The Princess Grace movie is getting wretched reviews -- Peter Bradshaw at The Guardian called it "a film so awe-inspiringly wooden that it is basically a fire-risk," because he is a treasure -- but Kidman herself is often great at Cannes, and she's kicking off this go-round VERY impressively.
