We've seen Dakota's nightie, and we've seen Anya Taylor-Joy's mini. This is an in-between length, with a turtleneck and a smaller bow. And sequins. So, tweaks here and there on an idea Gucci clearly likes. An this is... it's a lot of dress. It's almost a burden of a dress, because it's so much, and it takes a Blanchett to carry it for sure. I wish she'd gone for more glaorous shoes; I'm not saying she needs jewels on her feet, but I think those almost aren't formal enough.

Her hair and face? Superb. And I like winding the necklace around the turtleneck (the runway version showed jewelry there, but not that same piece). It's an unusual choice and one that really works. Ultimately, I like this, despite my notes -- but I think context is key, and Cate is the MVP.

I didn't notice it right away, but from some angles it does look like it needs a hoiking. From others, it's okay. I think the whole effect is so lovely that I am not sure I mind. She's Old Hollywood glam.

You can see the waist jewels better here. I know the click-to-enlarge function is still jacked, but if you click the rectangle with the single arrow, it pops the photo into its own tab and you CAN click to enlarge there. It's something! And MOBILE IS WORKING, so today is a happy day.
