# Cate Blanchett Tests Her Carte Blanchett in These Pants

First of all, I'd like to thank the universe for answering a question that I was too lazy to look up on my own. In the ad for *The House With the Clock in its Walls*, there is a BRIEF flash of a woman standing next to Jack Black, and every time I see her, I think, "is that Cate Blanchett? It looks like Cate Blanchett. Who puts together a trailer of a movie with Cate Blanchett in it and doesn't have her speak? It must just be a woman who looks like Cate Blanchett. They must be going for a *flavor* of Blanchett. Who do you hire if you can't get Blanchett? Who's the poor man's Cate Blanchett?" And then I get distracted. Well, it turns out that the woman in question IS Cate Blanchett, I should *never* doubt my own ability to identify a celebrity (even though I get them wrong way more often than I should, given my livelihood), and it's possible that the reason all the ads I've seen for this movie are light on the Blanchett is because they're running during baseball games and I guess some people might think that sports fans and Blanchettarians don't have a lot of overlap (a hypothesis which I personally think is untrue; we contain multitudes).

Here's what is definitely true: I know they're trying to talk us into these pants now, and I am *not* falling for it. She certainly looks whimsical, but imagine if those pants *didn't* look like they got caught in a funhouse mirror. JUST IMAGINE IT.
