I like the color of this coat of Kate's very much in general, but I don't know that I actually think it's the best color on her, even. She wore it at the Olympics -- can we pour some Gatorade out for the Olympics? That was fun -- but this is the first time I've really gotten a look at it, and I think it's a bit underwhelming. But we really need to talk about Sophie. SOPHIE. Just because everyone has a feather on their head at this thing, it does not mean that everyone else ALSO has to wear feathers on their person. I do not even know what is happening here. I don't even know if those are attached to that dress, or if she just...plonked them on? And if they are plonked, does that mean Sophie has a Feathered Collar just flapping around in case she wants to wear it? I have concerns.
But I do think this photo of Wills sneaking a peek at Kate while she watches them march about in their capes and gowns and hats and feather is extremely cute. If you think your beloved is cute in this very silly ceremonial outfit, you must truly think he is cute.
Meanwhile, Chaz is thinking, "if I tug really thoroughly at the ties to this cape, do you think someone will come out with a gin for me? I really need one."
I saw this photo first of all of them, and for a moment, I thought Charles's Hat Feathers were actually attached to Kate's hat, and there was this whole weird thing where I thought that everyone had just decided to staple whatever feathers they had on whatever was on their person and I was going to have to send one of our British Fug Nationals to go intervene somehow.
"This entire event is hilarious to me. My family is not like other families."
I also enjoy that Sophie and her Feathers are just lurking the background. READY TO ATTACK. Additionally, for those of you who wondered where the hell Prince Andrew has been lately: there he is, sticking his tongue out.
"Dammit. Did we leave the kettle on? AGAIN? I swear to God, I am going to turn this ceremonial carriage around."
