Somehow I did not know these two are dating! Or if I did know it, I forgot it because my brain can only hold onto so many things, and clearly I'm going to need all these old specific factoids about Dan Scott's story arc on One Tree Hill for the book I'm writing, Dan Scott: A Heart Worth Eating. Anyway, i think she's wearing a little too much makeup, maybe, and this is kind of like a fancy fancy apron, but I am partial to a fancy fancy apron, so carry on.
The styling kind of takes this all across a bridge too far -- the shoes and the bag and the necklace are somewhat too too, as Nellie Olsen would say -- but the skirt is rad, as we old people used to say.
SHINY.
Mary Alice here is a style and beauty expert, whom we often see at Fashion Week looking enviably fabulous, and I must confess that while this is unconventional and a wee bit wacky -- it might be two dresses mashed into one? -- I also love her for going there, and I like to think that every time she left the room, she swooshed that half-train as dramatically as possible. How often does a girl get to sport a half-train, after all?
This is seriously like the only time I've ever seen Cody Horn smile, and that includes all those scenes in Magic Mike where Channing TayTay is waggling his junk around in a choreographed salute to first responders, which is exactly the time you SHOULD be smiling. Lots of two dresses in one at this event. Are these like the sartorial version of those jars of peanut butter AND jelly in one? Like, you get everything without having to do anything other than just take it off the shelf.
This is adorable.
From both front AND back!
