Chanel's runway shows aren't very sartorially thrilling to me. I gather this line [was inspired by a convent in which Coco Chanel spent some formative years](https://www.vogue.com/fashion-shows/spring-2020-couture/chanel?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), and is definitely a break from how frenetically styled and overburdened Karl's later work could be, but there is a limit to how much of the line's signature tweedy aesthetic I can digest. We know the likes of K.Stew and Margot Robbie and Penelope Cruz will end up in some of this, though, so onward we go.
